I came across this bible verse, taken from the New American Standard Bible.

Do not say, "Why is it that the former days were better than these?" For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this.

    How would you interpret this?

To me, I would think it means sorta like, "No duh it seemed better back then, things always seem that way. Don't waste your time wondering why things suck now." Not necessarily condemning reminiscing about your past, but discouraging longing for it.

from what I understand from the bible, we should not dwell on the past to look to future,

but we can learn from the past to help us in the present

such as a bad break up or a death,we can't focus on those let our future be dictated by them but we can learn from those experiences and be able to move on to other important things in our life

that's how interpret the bibles view on the past

I believe the verse is saying that the modern days are every bit as good as the old days.

This could be a stretch, but it could also relate to the way some people may complain that the world is supposedly "more sinful now than it was in the good old days", but they are missing the fact that the world has been just as bad since the first time Adam and Eve sinned in the garden. All sin is equal to God, and mankind is not to make the decision that "the old days were better". Not to mention the fact that Bible times were full many things just as strong as what we have today.

How about "Thou shalt have the same opinion, if thou does not, then thy opinion is automatically wrong."
