its puzzling, having Asperger's or autism attracts u to retro things? how?

I'm not sure It just seems many people on here have one or the other. Why do they like closing logos I don't know. Whats funny is I have always had many of the symptoms of Asperger's.

Does anyone else think it odd that this thread has over 70 pages?

When half of the site has autism or asperger syndrome it doesn't surprise me.

    Half of this site?

The Columbia Pictures Television logo from 1987. I even used to have nightmares of the Torch Lady. In one of the dreams I had of her, she would open my bedroom door, jerk me by the arm, and say "Hey kid get your ass out of bed, RIGHT NOW!"
She would also force me into my closet, where she would light up her torch, and play the 6 note trumpet fanfare from the logo. I know it sounds weird, but it's true. I am not joking!

That Nickelodeon bumper in the 90's that had that teeth and eyeballs hanging on a wire and it was singing the Nick theme song in an art gallery thingy.

    I loved that logo!
I also received a scary PM from someone who claimed to be Microman about a logo I hated!

None. Anyone who ever thought any of those images were scary needs to seek mental help.

I loved the "Sit, Ubu, Sit" thing.

Still, mimitchi, that flashing Pokemon stuff in your signature is more frightening than any of that, because I watch it, and fear the onset of epilepsy.

The tests from the emergency broadcast system used to scare me that beeeeeeeeep!

While playing with my new Shelby (friend of furby, orange clam thingy in my signature),I heard this:
    BEEEEEEEEEP!
    BEEEEEEP!
I rushed to the TV to see what happend. I thought that it was the white screen of death on a VHS tape,or the Emergency Brodcast System.
I found out that it was the Emergency Brodcast System!
I find the EBS tests funny!

If you included all of the social anxieties, obsessive compulsive disorders, ADD, mantic depression, gender identity disorders and such I think that number could be 95%. Face we're all fucked up in our own way on this site.

That old Nickelodeon commercial with the pulsating logo, the heartbeat,
some scary wind sound, and some kids faces appearing in purple while
a guy's voice says "Nick is..." 5 or 6 times.

That isn't scary at all! It's funny!

Is anybody else scared of the Rankin-Bass logo? When it aired in the '80s, it was really scary for me. Still is to this day.

I'm not scared of that logo! I love it!

After the logos, the teacher was busy and forgot to stop the movie, and of course some of you know that if you leave an old movie on when it's over, instead of stoping and rewinding, it shows a black or white screen (commonly a white screen on fox and paramount videos) and a high pitched sound that you usually hear on test patterns. Has anyone else seen this before?

I saw the white screen and the black screen on my videotapes!
Here's some info about the white screens and black screens at the end of videotapes that Megaman mentioned:

Did anyone ever watch old VHS tapes past the credits? If you did, about a minute after the credits, a white or black screen (or with red "clock" numbers as someone said at youtube) appeared and it made a certain noise, like an endless tone from a test pattern, a continuous beeping similar to someone dialing a telephone, or, from what I have heard but not seen, a strange noise. It was commonly a white screen on paramount and fox videos, and I saw a black screen at the end of an old superman cartoon video. Both had the test pattern tone. Does anyone know what causes it to come on after the movie? Some people have said that it might have been there to assure that the movie was really over, but my belief is that the tape reel (inside the video tape) came to it's end and all that is left is white (if you actually eject the video at this point, you can sometimes see the end of the film on the reel inside the video is white instead of black), and I think the beeping sounds come from the video trying to play, yet the film reel has come to an end.
If anyone has a video tape with this at the end,(especialy if it doesn't have a white screen), please upload it to youtube, as sammy t3e snake did here:

In Florida, we have a water park called Adventure Landing. The commercials in the 90's had a cold water monster or something. I thought it was funny the first time, but after that I ran away from the TV whenever it showed. What was worse was that the monster's picture was on the back of the local TV guide and my brother would chase me with it. I wish I could find a picture of it on google to finally confront my fear.

There was also a Saturn car commercial with scary aliens in it.

I was also afraid of the battery commercials with people with batteries in their backs.

I really hate these "Closing Logos Lulz" people, but since this thread is also on things that generally scared you as a child, there's one thing that frightened me. Just about any transformation scene anywhere (especially the transformation of the rebellious boys turning to asses in the animated Pinocchio movie and even the 1999 live action movie which was more frightening there).

The FHE logo from the early 90's scared me! That damn synthesizer is so demonic! The DIC logo from the 90's was also scary, though I don't get scared of it much today.

LMFAO No shit...that irritating high-pitched "music" always did a number on my ears. That fuckin' bright yellow background, then the f.h.e. letters appearing on the screen took like twenty minutes...by the time the actual cartoon started, I was in the other room playing Nintendo!

As for closing/opening logos scaring me, well...there are plenty of things wrong with that. But perhaps the most frightening aspect would be actually remembering them that well.

fag. Generically speaking, no personal attack to mr3urious

    Just...fag
