I found this pic somewhere from my DVD "The Complete Pluto - Vol. 1", I found this cartoon "T-Bone for Two" and the intro at the very beginning might scare you to death. This should bring back those horrified memories of watching old Disney cartoons, including my favorite character, Pluto. This is a rare headshot taken from the opening to the short "T-Bone for Two". This was before "Star Trek" had the end credits where the alien's head was shown towards the end of the credits. That was also scary, but here it is.

omg, those headshots that zoomed ala the v of doom DID scare me as a child! It kept me from watching those classic cartoons!

I know that, I've seen Disney cartoon shorts in the past where they had headshots of Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Pluto and Figaro (from "Pinocchio") along with the Terrytoons characters like Heckle & Jeckle, Mighty Mouse and others in some theatrical Terrytoons open (not the TV print that has the title of a cartoon without the end titles). The Terrytoons headshots used in theatrical open looked a lot similar to the Disney headshots of cartoon characters.

Are you talking about the "Neon Mickey" logo from 1978-1986? :

WNED (that's PBS in Buffalo) had a big block "17" logo that, for some reason, scared me just looking at it.

There were at least two board game commercials that scared me as a kid. One was for the game It From the Pit, with a huge swamp monster, and the other was Crossfire. I guess the name "Crossfire" made me think of guns, I was always afraid of guns when I was a kid.

i used to be petrified of the theme to the andy griffith show (you know, the whistling?) my grandpa would watch it, but i would make him watch it somewhere else, and i would sit as far away as possible and cover my ears and cry. i guess that's a little weird. haha.

I vaguely remember that one! Talk about unlocking another part of my brain that's been shut for so long!
Garfield: "My car is so old, that it's insured against theft, flood, fire and dinosaur stampedes!"

Garfield: "The local bus transit is doing their part to help with the weight loss program: each year, they stop further and further away from the curb!

The DLP screen ident used on the DLP digital screens at the new multiplex cinema near me scares me just a little:

As soon as they pop up with a "bang" sound effect I feel a little shocked, but after that I am okay.

I see it as "taking my medicine" .

I was afraid of the Noid and the Tang Lips when I was little. I also thought the NBC Peacock would peck my eyes out.

If you want to see something creepy, look up "Max Headroom Pirating Incident" on Youtube. Pretty freaky stuff.

Back in the good old days of the Cold War, WCVB, Channel 5 in Boston had an EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM slate card that used to creep me out. Against a rainbow style background (think sunset), you saw a black signal tower which vertically reflected itself. Next to this was the red and white CIVIL DEFENSE logo in a black rectangle. Looking at the CD logo was like looking at an evil eye, I swear it did. The words EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM were written in black above the image, and I believe the station call letters were at the bottom. It wasn't until I was older that I understood what the EBS was for, but even back then, I knew it couldn't be good news to see that slate pop up.

back in 1978, the commercial for the movie "dawn of the dead" where the head of a zombie rising up over the horizon while there was a narrator introducing the film is something i still remember to this day. pretty traumatizing. also for the movie "magic" where the puppet was talking to the screen

There was once a Rainbow Releasing log with a fierce-looking man pulling a rainbow out of a box, which scared me so bad. That and the "gun" FBI warning used on some Richard Simmons tapes. Then there was that dreaded soda-pop Family Home Entertainment logo. AAGH!
