    What was it?
Garfield: "My car is so old, that it's insured against theft, flood, fire and dinosaur stampedes!"

Garfield: "The local bus transit is doing their part to help with the weight loss program: each year, they stop further and further away from the curb!

I think mine was Super Mario world or Sonic 2, Those are the earliest memories I have of beating a game. Like BubbleBobble said with the kirby game, that was one of the first games I beat as well

Tried as hard as I could but, for some reason I could NEVER defeat Super Mario Bros.

I believe my first genuine video game victory was "Contra" for NES...(with a little help from 30 additional lives hehehe).

I can't really remember, but I think it was either
    Yoshi's Story
    Sonic The Hedgehog 2
    or
    Super Mario 64
I'm pretty sure it was Sonic 2.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 for the Genesis. I beat it when I was 4 or 5, I think. Then I got an accessory that allowed you to play this game as Knuckles!
Shao Kahn: You pathetic fools, I've come for your souls!

    Raiden: I don't think so.

The first game I remember beating on my own without cheating was Streets Of Rage 2 on the Sega Genesis. Granted it was on the easy setting, but I still finished it and man was I surprised and excited.
