For me, it was the Dr. Dreadful Food Lab, I asked for it every year and I actually kind of got it in 1995, but my mom brought it back for some reason and I've asked for it every year since. I'm 20 years old and I'm asking for it...

I also asked for a puppy almost every year but never got one.

A telescope. They are expensive but of course didn't understand it back then.

The one thing that I never got that I wanted was one of those American Girl does. It's kind of funny because in reality back then yes, they were still expensive (though not like they are now) but I had probably gotten a present or two back then that was just as expensive so I don't think it was the cost. I think it was probably more that my parents maybe thought I wasn't responsible enough to take care of it. I am not sure how they are made now but I thought maybe the dolls had porcelin faces back then. Heck I can't remember. I just know I wanted one but never got it.

I wanted to get a Cell Phone on Christmas or even a car, but it was more like "If you want that for Christmas...get it yourself"!

I did get a Cell Phone the Summer after that Christmas and I had it for almost 5 years. But for a car...I have to get that in March or April!

Mine was a classic. A simple train set. I always loved model railroads and wanted on for myself. I'd make friends with kids who had them and bug them to drag it out so we could play with it. My dad (and let me say now he was correct) thought I would get bored with a train set easily. So, every year I asked for a train set I'd get slot racers. Not a bad exchange, but what was the use of having a four car slot race track with a shitload of extra track, if I couldn't get any of my friends to race with me? Not to mention I could never keep the cars from flying off.

Today I have a model railroad, hundreds of feet of track, buildings, cars, houses, hell I have an entire town. I just have no place to set any of it up.
YOU MIGHT THINK I'M ALONE IN MY ADULATION OF SPIDER-MAN. YOU MIGHT THINK THAT I'M SOMEHOW SOCIALLY OR EMOTIONALLY RETARDED TO STILL HAVE SUCH GREAT PASSION FOR SOMETHING AIMED, ESSENTIALLY, AT CHILDREN, AND CREATED ALMOST 50 YEARS AGO.

That's the downside with model trains. You need a buttload of room for `em.
