Listen RetroJunkers, I kid you not.

When this song hit in the mid-80's radio stations around the country lit up like Christmas trees. Kenny G can hog all the fame he wants but fans of Tower of Power remembered Lenny Williams and couldn't get enough of the man, he can sing.

And it's the vocals that make this such an outstanding song.
The 80's wouldn't be the same without it folks.

Time to spotlight a guy that too often gets overlooked on 80's threads.

Billy Squier, (Mr. Arena Rock), really should get a lot more respect from retro rock fans. There are a few oldies radio stations that still air his music but Billy sure made a lotta noise back in the day.

He's that guy who sang "The Stroke Man" back in the early 80's - that song caused traffic to slow on I-5 everytime, lol.

But Billy has another song that I think has earned a spot on this thread. It was the first song on his "Don't Say No" album. I'm going the use the "Emotions In Motion" album cover instead, waay cooler.

    Chaka Khan & Rick Wakeman - Julia from Rick Wakeman's 1984 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9z7lP48WRY

Rick once explained on his UK satellite Radio show Rick's Place that while he was recording his album 1984, a collaboration with Tim Rice, Chaka was in the studio next door and came by to visit and thank Rick for getting her children to read. Rick was a bit perplexed until Chaka explained Rick's album from the 70's Journey to the Center of the Earth got her children interested in reading Jules Verne and to give thanks she put down some vocals for his 1984 album.
