The song is all I remember too. We used to change it to "Mayra the Bee" and annoy a friend.

    Buzzing here and buzzing there
    Busy buzzing everywhere

    Maya's good and Maya cares
    Maya loves and Maya shares
    Buzzing here and buzzing there

dude, the only things that come to mind when i think back to the innocennt days of david the gnome, maya the bee, and the littlebits are

the one verse....except in my head its amira, amira the bee

and this episode where hornets were chasing maya, and a worm try to hide her in a hole, and he got stung half to death trying to save her...o, and the episode were a mouse saved the cricket during winter.

david the g-nome, i miss u and swift!

Amira was diffrent show on Nick Jr. It was about a girl named Amira who had a friend that was a bee. That's why you think that.
I'm only 22, but why does this place make me feel old?

I remember watching David the Gnome- and I always
think of David the Gnome as Father Dowling!!

Father Dowling and David the Gnome are
the same person--- Tom Bosley--from Happy Days!

I used to watch this every day, but now I don't remember much about it. Maybe I should check on Youtube.

I think the song heard in most European editions also kicks ass. The US edition handled by Saban International doesn't hold a candle!

There wasn't a show on Nick Jr. named Amira! Unless you're really confused and are talking about Flexy's Little Big Question.
Yeah, it's Yuuki. Got a problem with that?

Yeah sounds similar to that Big little room show.

I know they've rebooted Maya but I haven't bothered watching it. I remember that creepy episode listed above about the worm, and I think a pincher bug (ear wig? I dunno) had to cut the worm in half or something because it had been stung. It was disturbing haha

I remember Maya the Bee being part of Nickelodeon's daily programming in the late '80s / early '90s. The only reason I watched it was because it came on right before Noozles--which was a fantastic show.

LOVED Noozles. I was getting a bit too old for some of these cartoons when they popped on in the very early 90s, but I spent a whole summer babysitting my four year old sister and we'd watch Noozles, Maya, Eureeka, The Littlest Koala, Papa Beaver's storytime, etc. Those are some great memories. Eventually these transitioned into Gulluh Gulluh Island and Allegra's Window that she watched quite often.
