I loved the Atari/Midway/etc. arcade collections for gamecube. I would like to see something like that for the Wii. A series of discs with all of the classic NES and SNES games like the Mario games, Zelda, Metroid, and all the cool games that we remember. What do you guys and girls think ? I know that we can get a lot of the classic games on the virtual console, but actually having a physical disc to hold and look at is a lot better, in my opinion. I think it could work. I'd buy them.

Would be great, but it would kill the purpose of Virtual Console. Maybe on the next Nintendo console.

As was said, the VC brings your idea to a halt.

I'd like to see one of two things though: 1) Offer some sort of bundle on the VC where you can download the Mario series (or any others) at a discounted price. 2) Offer a free download if you buy a certain Wii game. For example, if you bought MP Trilogy, you'd have a code for a d/l of Super Metroid. I'd much prefer this over registering your game for a free poster on club nintendo.

Well they've already done this for the GBA and for the VC as previously stated

Yeah, I know that it would kill the idea of the Virtual Console, but like I said, there's just something about having a physical game to hold and look at the artwork and read about it. That's exactly why I only just recently bought something on iTunes.... The Perfect Strangers Christmas special (which isn't on dvd...yet), and the theme for the Sherlock Holmes tv series, which is on cd, but very hard to find at a reasonable price.

In this age of digital downloads I don't think we're ever going to see a company like Nintendo repacking their classic games on discs and selling them for cheap. At least not as long as people are still buying games off the VC for 5-10 bucks apiece.
