I was so bored by the announcement that I'm ignoring the discussion and only commenting on the interesting comments.

Seriously, not really surprised but my opinion of him is still the same. He had a one-song hit that I semi-care about.

Are you saying he has one song you liked or he only had one hit? Because he had several.

that's like if one of the hanson brothers came out. we would be like "who cares?"

That would be shocking. They're all married and the two oldest have kids. Rule of Thumb- gay guys never have long hair.

What a bunch of sheep. I was listening to Queen long before I discovered Freddie Mercury was gay.

Only people surprised are girls that were their fans.

score 2 for guys calling that.

We always said back in school they were gay but the girls would deny it.

Sounds like the conversations I've had with my wife everytime his name popped up since the late 90's. I found out when she got off the computer and said "you suck.".

There's an old saying I learned at Cornell; If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck and quacks like a duck, then run a background check. And that's exactly what I did.

I have an inside contact at GLAAD, who owes a big favor for digging up some dirt on a ex lover. he says there is no record of any registration WHAT-SO-EVER for this Ricardo Martinez. Folks, I smell a toasted alfalfa and bologna on Rye sandwich, if you get my meaning.

In my latest book, "The Liberace effect" I blow the lid off so called Out of closet experiences. Believe me folks, in my 25+ years of journalism, I've seen a lot of bizarre tales. But all this is a last effort ploy to sell albums.

Well, there you have it folks. From the proverbial horses mouth. Live from retrojunk.com, this is Glennmore Linder-Floman reporting. Now back to Linda Consuela Alava Guiterres at the weather station.

Ricky: "Man, my career in my home country is great, but I've all but disappeared from the American mainstream eye...what to do what to do?"

Career adviser: I GOT IT! Announce that you're gay!! That brings INSTANT buzz! The media will love it!

Ricky: But I'm not gay...I got a wife and two kids. I mean, come on man! You saw how much ass I was bringin in during the La Vida Loca days!

Adviser: Look, do you want to be relevant in America again or not??

    Ricky: Yea, but...

Adviser: IT'S SETTLED! *hacks Ricky's twitter account, makes "IM GAY!!!" tweet*

    ----------------------------

    That's how it really happened.

I believe this is how it really went...

    Shocking.

I think it's pretty weird that he lied to his wife and kid...

I wonder if he lied to her or told her straight away?? That's pretty fcking mean if he did lie to her.

Granted, it's not much of a surprise in Ricky's case but isn't it interesting how many has-been celeberties have come out of the closet and getting that extra 15 minutes of fame?

Agreed, but Ricky is too late to the party. Coming out of the Closet is so 2008 as a celeb publicity stunt. These days the hollywood has-beens are all about ODing or killing themselves to get people to talk about them again.

Britney Murphy, Michael Jackson, Corey Haim, Boner from Growing Pains.... I'm just sayin...

Britney Murphy didn't OD. The Los Angeles County coroner stated that the primary cause of Murphy's death was pneumonia, with secondary factors of iron-deficiency anemia and multiple drug intoxication. The coroner released a report stating that Murphy had been taking a range of over the counter and prescription medications, with the most likely reason being to treat a cold or respiratory infection. These included "elevated levels" of hydrocodone, acetaminophen, L-methamphetamine and chlorpheniramine. All of the drugs were legal and the death was ruled to be an accident, but the report observed: "the possible adverse physiological effects of elevated levels of these medications cannot be discounted, especially in her weakened state".[

Whoa, my brain just exploded. That is the textbook definition of an overdose. It doesn't matter who's responsible. My roommate (a pharmacy tech) was looking over my shoulder and had the same response I did: "Only some of those drugs treat pneumonia and there's no reason to take them all at once." If she was sick, then it's like they said, her weakened state would have contributed to her overdosing. "Natural causes" just means she wasn't murdered.

I had to read a few articles to find out why she'd be taking vicodin. They claimed it was for "severe menstrual cramps." Who the hell takes opiates for that?

Guess overdoses should be left to professional junkies.
