What do you all think of it?

Crap. Just....crap. Normally, I don't say that about Johnny Depp movies (except maybe At World's End), but this looks just horrible. Even moreso than Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, and I didn't think it could get worse than that. Tim Burton hasn't made a good movie since Sleepy Hollow.

Haven't seen it yet? Then shut it. Its hard to form an objective opinion from 2 1/2 minutes of footage.

Well, we've all seen trailers for movies and thought to ourselves that doesn't look very good, so I see where VHSer is coming from.

With that being said, I'm willing to give this newer verison a shot. But being the big Disney fan that I am and the 1933 Disney animated Alice in Wonderland being one of my personal favorites, I doubt I'll hold the newer one in such high regrad as I do that one. Though I'm also a big Tim Burton fan so I do disagree with VHSer's comment on Burton not making a good flim since Sleepy Hollow, I liked Sweeny Todd and Big Fish very much myself.

Like I said, I'm willing to give this movie a shot (maybe even check it out on tues), but from the trailers and the reviews I've been reading (which most of them not being very positive), it sounds like it would be maybe an ok moive.

I thought Charlie and The Chocolate Factory was well done as it was more true to the novel. Planet of the Apes was ok and Sweeny Todd rocked!

I think Tim Burton is a talented director who knows his stuff and i saw the 3D version of the classic story done for the screen.

Tim Burton is a douche and has ruined Alice.. He hasn't had a good movie since "Nightmare" and yet there are still people who think he's the best director in the world.. Here's a tip for all of those little goth cunts, Just because Tim Burton is directing and Johnny Depp is in it doesn't mean it's gonna be good.. In fact, from my experience, it's quite the opposite

I've heard that Disney's animated Alice and Wonderland was very popular on college campuses during the 60's and 70's for that very reason.

I saw it last night. 3D was sold out, but it was still pretty good. I liked it.

He didn't direct Nightmare. Henry Selick did. Burton was just the producer and writer.

    Indeed...

Linda Woolverton is the screen writer. I saw the script when they were starting to develop the story... part of the crew sent it to the Lewis carroll Society (wich I'm part of)with footage and stuff. *I'm a BIG C.L.Dodgson fan... my favorite classisc author*

I haven't seen it yet (maybe I will make an effort... hate cinemas)... certainly will be a delight to watch since (according to footages/trailers) the cinematography is very eye-candy. But in regards to the story itself, is a complete twist... not what Dodgson had in mind.

But of course, is a sequel with lots of GGI. Alice in Burtonland stick better.

I haven't seen it yet. But I am a big Tim Burton fan, so I'll have to check it out. However, I'm a bit disappointed that the movie replaced "Avatar" in theaters. I wanted to see that, but never got the chance.

The word "trite" came to mind often during my painstaking trudge through this exhaustively predictable contrivance of a film. Johnny Depp is Disney's bitch and Tim Burton is now officially a tool. This movie made me want to die of pneumonia in the 1890's.

I'm going to see it tomorrow night with the wife.

Good thing it is at a "cinema cafe".

Home of the 32oz. "monster mugs" of beer.

    Yum a dum dum!

I sure hope beer helps because weed didn't. What sucks is I REALLY wanted it to rock tits. Alas, it was summed up best by the 6 year old behind me who kept asking his parents if it was over yet.

Perhaps if you ate some caps or stems the experience might have been better?

    Boomers make everything better.

    Except Tetris.

    That shit sucks!

The people I went with were up to their ears in fungi and they were the biggest naysayers of all. Seriously, I was being kind in my review. It should have been a deeper film in my opinion with way less sucky-ness. Still, don't let my negative outlook keep you from witnessing such a travesty.
