Maybe I'll see it, maybe I won't...at least not until it's on DVD. Besides if I must make a comparison, I've always liked Friday The 13th movies more. I think a killer whose face you can't see and doesn't speak is a hell of a lot more intimidating than the clown of killers, Freddy Krueger.

Except Kruger wasn't always a clown. The original film he was a boogeyman. The remake is bringing him back to that.

I agree, that is why I'm also wanting to see the new one. The first Nightmare was creepy but most of the others were pretty comical, and that's why I liked them. I'm willing to see him in a movie where he is supposed to be scary again.

"Wanna suck face?" lol "Don't fuck with the mother"

I will go to see the new movie hey what the heck they made Halloween which was awful, and Friday the 13th which was very good. I mean as long as they keep the same story line and don't get it twisted I think it will be good. I saw that they have made Freddy more sinister, and creepy, he will not be the same Freddy that was making jokes in the 80's. It will be just like the original one .

This movie has gotten suprisingly good early reviews and should be a winner to see the creepy freddy instead of making jokes.

Jackie will be as good as Englund.

I hope they use the "1,2 freddy's coming for you" with the little girls instead of that one from the trailers. It was so creepy with those little girls, sorta like The Shining "Come Play with us" thing.

    ROBERT ENGLUND IS FREDDY KRUEGER.

That said I may still give this flick a chance because I loved the Friday The 13th "reboot" or "re-imagining" so much. Jason's mask and machete are more iconic than the man behind the mask himself. Jason has been portrayed by 11 different actors (including Kane Hodder who has played Jason four times and my new favorite, Derek Mears). Freddy on the other hand has always been played by Mr. Englund himself. I think its kind of a risky move with such an iconic character but I would like to see how it plays out with Jackie Earle Haley.
