i think it's going to be bad. everything that was good about the originals, the remake the remake does the opposite. i think this was really un-needed.

    what's your opinion on it?

I'll pass, just rehashing something that has already been done.

I think there's a thread on this. And the film doesn't look that bad. Then again, we live in the age where everyone judges on 2 minutes of time.

It's like this. You can't have a Friday The 13th without Kane Hodder playing Jason, and you can't have a Freddy movie without Robert Englund. It's just not right.

Kane Hodder was only in a few of the Friday films.

That might be the dumbest fucking comment I've ever read.

Hodder wasn't even the last two Jasons.

I thought Derek Mears was damn good in the reboot.

Somehow Nightmare will survive without Englund.

Except for the last movie, Freddy Vs. Jason, Kane Hodder was Jason in the last movies. The movie that came out last year doesn't count.

Who gives a fuck which actor plays somebody with no voice that's covered from head to toe? It's like complaining that a character wasn't wearing the right brand name of jeans. I am sure any two-bit actor of large frame could slowly lumber after some retarded teenager.

It doesn't look bad, it looks kind of decent. But i think the new Freddy might work good, i mean if it worked for Heath Ledger being better then Jack Nicholson as Joker then i think Jackie will be as good as Freddy.

And as for horror movie remakes, has anyone even seen the following?

    The Thing.
    The Fly.
    The Blob.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (197.
    The Toolbox Murders.
    2001 Maniacs.
    The Wizard of Gore.
    Cat People.
    Dawn of the Dead.
Night of the Living Dead (1990).
    House on Haunted Hill.
    House of Wax (1953).
    My Bloody Valentine 3D.
    The Hills Have Eyes.
    The Crazies.
The Last House on The Left.
    The Ring.
    Peter Jackson's King Kong.

All excellent remakes of the genre done right.

This could be decent like The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Halloween, The Grudge or even Friday The 13th (Barely a remake of the original, it felt like actually part 12 then a real remake). I hope it's not a dud like "Psycho" (God that movie was painful), "Stepfather", "The Fog", "When a Stranger Calls", "Black XMas" or some.

Uh oh, somebody said the word "remake"! Cue the Timbox-esque list of movies.

I saw the trailer for this before The Wolfman.
I can't think of anything worth putting as a signature.

It's all about the body language. There was just something about Kane Hodder that made Jason what he was. No one else has ever done him justice. Same goes for Freddy. The way that Robert Englund moves and behaves is Freddy Kruger.

Which is why Freddy vs. Jason is the worst of the series.

So, the writing had nothing to do with it? What about Friday the 13th 2-6? I guess they were garbage also, since Kane Hodder wasn't in it.

Jackie Earle Haley is a capable actor. I feel he does have what it takes to make a terrifying Freddy. That is what the director is aiming at. I read in Fangoria magazine, the director took out all of the comedy and dry humor. This is a good start. This will be a horror film. Like original movie was. The more I read interview with the director, the better I feel.

I bet you didn't know The Thing from 1982, The Fly from 1986 or Scarface from 1983 were remakes? DUH what idiots, your do damn lazy to do your research.

These were remakes of hokey old black and white movies from the 30's and 50's but done better.

What do you think of the remakes i mentioned?
