I'm an environmental science major who loves animals, but I agree that PETA is really stupid sometimes with the things that they do. Punxsutawney Phil is really well taken care of; it's not like his caretakers are torturing him or anything. Besides, what robot could ever replace him? That little Gus character from the Pennsylvania lottery commercials? I say keep Punxsutawney Phil a Groundhog's Day tradition.

I have a question, is Punxsatawny Phil like Shamu? Where it is the name of every featured groundhog and replaced after its death?

peta makes it impossible for reasonable people dealing with reasonable animal rights issues to be taken seriously beacause peta is always doing stupid shit like this. i wish they would do animals a favor and shut the fuck up.

I have yet to see the groundhog in those Animal abuse infomercials while playing to that song by that woman.

PEOPLE EATING TASTY ANIMALS!! I'm an omnivore. Quit your bitching. The only PETA related thing I support is anything anti-fur. People who wear fur are disgusting. Imagine a dog wearing a human skin coat...think about it...

I don't really see a big problem with wearing fur, as long as the animals weren't skinned alive or endangered. It's certainly no worse in philosophy than wearing leather.

Ya know, if PeTA wants to talk seriously about animal rights, maybe whining about various things, pulling publicity stunts, and traumatizing people with their crap isn't really the best option?
