I think I was like 9 or 10. I got out of bed because I thought I heard Santa, and when I went to investigate, I saw my Dad putting stuff in our stockings. I had my doubts before that though.

I stopped believing in Santa when I was 11 years old. I was sleeping on a hospital bed that was put in the living room of my mom's house (the reason there was a hopital bed in the living room was because I was in a serious car accident and I was injured badly) and I woke up to see that my mom was in the living room putting presents underneath the Christmas tree.

My parents told me what was up when I was about 9. Although for a long time they'd still write "from Santa" on some of the presents just since it was a tradition.

Funny story actually. My parents had not told my by the time I had reached 5th grade. I figured he wasn't real by then though. Anyways my school counselor asked the class when their parents had told them. I raised my hand and told her that my parents hadn't yet.

I was 10 as well but had my doubts before that. I am amazed that so far all of us that have posted beleived for so long because there are so many kids that stop believing by Kindergarden these days because all the other kids ruin it for them because their older siblings ruined it for THEM or because their parents don't do the whole Santa thing. I will be so devasted when my 5 year old stops believing but I can't really get mad at another child who says it because it's so hard to explain to a kid not to spoil it for someone else just because you know the truth. The kid will be like why the heck does Timmy still beleive in Santa when I don't? That's stupid! . I can't really get mad at their parents either because you can only tell your kid so many times not to tell the other kids there is no Santa and just hope that they listen. When my son stops believing I to will have the talk with him many times about not ruining it for the younger kids. If I hear that he did i'll be pretty ticked with him because while I can't get mad at the other parents or their kids, I CAN try and control how MY kid acts lol

Like so many here I'm sure it was around 10 or 11 years old, but I had doubts as early as 9.

The weird part is, Christmas became more special for me when I realized the truth.

I was 10, but I had my doubts before. Found out when me and my brother snuck around and saw our chirstmas gifts, we weren't in shock it was more like, "Oh well I guess Santa doesn't bring them"

I was about 7 and my mother had gone to zero effort to hide the gifts in her wardrobe. She sent me in there to get some tissues and I look up and see them. I thought, "So Aaron was telling the truth to me!" and I started making outrageous demands from then on for Xmas until I one day said, "You can stop referring to Santa, I know he's not real."

My parents told me when I was about 9.

My oldest daughter approached us when she was around the same age. She was not upset when we told her that Santa was not real. She was thankful and felt loved because we did so much to make her happy on the morning of the 25th.. We told her that the mythical person in the red suit does not exist however the spirit of Santa Claus lives with each of us when we express the spirit of giving.

She said, so we are all a bit like Santa?

    I said yeah, pretty much.

My 5 year old is too smart and I figure she will figure it out by about 7..

I never really believed in him. My parents never hid the fact that they were the ones buying all the presents... I guess to add to the feeling of eternal gratitude they think I owe them.

Yeah, I guess I never stopped BELIEVING in him, but I know he doesn't put presents under my tree because he's dead. He WAS a real person though.
