Which one do you prefer/use in your house? We have a fake tree that we bought in 1991 from Handy Andy the first year in our current house and still use it to this year.

We used to use real trees, but the pine needles were a hassle so we ended up buying a fake one. It's a lot more convienient, although admittedly a pain to put away.

For the past few years, we've been using an artificial tree, and we are using one again this year.

When I was younger and lived at home we always had fresh, real trees. Now the past few years we have had a fake pre-lit tree in our house. I like the conveniance because there is no mess and you don't have to string any lights..although it is a pain to take a part and put together LOL. However this year we may do a real one. I miss the smell of Christmas in New England and it's the closest I will come to it for another two years. Now we have to get a damned tree holder. I hate those things. Such a pain in the ass finding the correct size.

We always get a real tree every year. It's fun to decorate and it just looks more natural. Last year, our tree actually GREW because of all the water we put into it. I don't know if we'll have such a tree this year, but I look forward to buying one.

We always get a real tree. It's a family tradition for us all to go out to a Christmas Tree farm and cut a fresh tree down. Also, I love the smell of a real tree.

We've had a real one since I was born. My grandparents always get fake ones now though. Every year, my mom always says we're getting a fake one, but I always convince them not to. I despise fake trees, they look so tacky and the hassle of a real tree is what makes it fun.. plus the great smell.

I love the smell of a real tree, but they are a pain to get rid of once they have died, so for the last 3 or 4 years we have used a fake tree, but it looks good, not like other fake tree's that look crap.
I love decorating the christmas tree and putting on all my awesome decorations, but this year due to having a kitten who would destroy it im not putting the tree up.

We have a fake tree. Real trees are too much of a hassle. No time here for upkeep on them, anyway.

Damn, I remember the Handy Andy by us. My dad got some great deals when they closed.

Fake, we have had the same tree for about 13 years now. I still think it looks better than any real tree we have ever had.

the only thing missing is the smell.

It depends. Most of the time, we would get a real tree, but there's also been times when we would get a plastic one. There's also been about one year or two in which my family got a small branch as our Christmas tree with very little decoration on it. The rest of my family loved it, but I was sort of disappointed.

Then again, as long as it keeps the Christmas tradition.

i have 3 fake trees, one we have had for like 8 years, a new one we got last year which looks more realistic, and my mother got a pink one last year. My only problems with fake ones are putting them up, taking them down, and spreading the branches out.

We used to get real ones all the time but for the past few years we've been putting up a fake tree. Mostly because at the moment we don't have the room for a real tree.

Really religious people would say fake trees are an insult to Jesus.

We use to get real trees in about 1992 or 1993 we got a fake one. The funny thing is my dad said the fake one is better because it doesn't bother his allergies, but he still misses the smell.

haha, then I'd point out it was stolen from pagan rituals.
