My dad was a few months shy of 40 and my mom was a month shy of 26. Yes my dad robbed the cradle lol They were both married before and my mom has a son from a previous marriage that my dad later adopted since his dad went awol. My dad aged a lot after his heart attack in 1985 so many people thought he was my grandfather. I remember other kids dads were so much younger. Even some of their moms were younger. I remember one of my friends whom was 16 at the time his mother was only 31!

Anyway I also felt a little out place, but having older parents may have also prevented me from getting in trouble like many of the kids with younger parents did. Both of my parents are still living, but my dad is in his 70s now.

I don't see the point in this topic. I think it was just for you to "brag" about the huge age difference between your parents.

Well I feel a little better that others had older parents.

Edit:I don't know why you think that MM. I think a discussion about our parent's age growing up is a good topic.

My mom was 22 when I was born and my dad was 28 or 29. My husband and I were both 23 when our son was born.

I personaly think this is a neat topic because if you have a child that is preschool age you will notice a wide variety of age groups as far as parents are concerned when you are dropping off and picking up your kids. Sometimes my husband and I are the youngest and sometimes we're in between. We're both about to turn 29 and our son just turned 5. We see other parents that look like they are probably in their 40s. One or two even look like they may be close to 50. Then there are some that are 21. So I guess we're right smack in the middle most of the time.
