I have two clips up there (Ken Reid talks of the horrors of amusement parks in the Summer, and Ken Reid talks of Summer Jobs)

Check them out, rate them if you feel like it, let me know what you think.

    Thank You!

With whitty humor such as that, I can see why you've been banned from Comedy Clubs.

Unless you wern't being a dink and were actually responding to my "Thank You" with a "No, Thank YOU" in which case, disregard my snarky response.

Also, if anyone dug this clip, I did a one man show last year all about growing up in the 80s and how television messed me up, it's up on my Youtube page in five parts www.youtube.com/lastdaysofrain

Part II is specifically about Mr Belvedere if anyone is a fan.

    thanks

That's kinda harsh Knuclear, a lot of good comedians didn't start off great or good at all. takes time.

I've seen a lot of comedy in my time. Seen a lot of people in a variety of venues.
Maybe I'm no judge of talent, but I laugh when somebody "tells it right".
Eight things I've noticed in Ken's youtube uploads:

1- Above average storytelling ability? Check
2- Uses voice inflections to amusing results? Check
    3- Inserts jokes and/or one-liners into stand-up routine? Check
4- Varies routine based on audience response? Check
5- Uses eye contact and facial expressions to hold audience? Check
6- Funny stories have points of common interest? Check
7- Props, music and/or video clips meld easily with routine? Check
8- At ease with his material? Check

Keep in mind that I've watched Ken's "Very Special Episode" clips.

I mean at least check the videos out first, then decide that I suck.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate you checking out the clips and being so critical/insightful. I put a lot into that show and I was pretty proud of it. I've tweaked it a bit since that taping (fleshed out the ending a bit) so hopefully it's better now. I have a third show I wrote that I should be doing in October called "Music to my Years" that's the same format as Very Special episode but about music and includes true stories such involving:

    - Beating Gary Cherone of Extreme at Basketball at age 15, frequently, and scooping MTV on the Van Halen News
    - Making out with Debbie Gibson
    - Hugging Scott Baio at a mall appearance at age 5
    - Doing a set of Prince/Time covers in a log cabin in New Jersey on a white power skinhead show and being hit in the face with a brick
    - getting into arguements with the following bands who opened for my band in the 90s: AFI, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, The Bravery (when they were "Skaba the Hut"), and having them get famous later
    - getting into arguements with: the kid who invented Napster, the kid who hosted MTV's TRL for years, and then having them get famous
    - encountering "Big Pete' of "Pete and Pete" at one of our shows in Philly

    and more.

Yeah, don't worry about knuclear. We don't usually have such upbeat people here, it's hard to take them seriously.

    No worries.

A love of retro culture generally goes hand in hand with a depressive, cautious, negative outlook? Sounds about right for me.

I figured I'd post it on here because a lot of the subject matter/approach/stories I tell might appeal to fans of things on this site. Since I'm totally damaged by popular culture pre-1995
