Not totally sure if this is true or not...hence why I put a question mark in the title. Apparently Jordan Chandler, the boy who accused Michael Jackson of sexually abusing him back in 1993, has now admitted that his dad made him lie about the whole thing so they could get money.

    http://awkwardstar.wordpress.com/2009/06/27/jordan-chandler-admits-he-lied-about-michael-jackson/

While there are several different websites now that are reporting this, none of the big names like ABC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc, have reported anything on it...which is why I'm kind of reluctant to believe its true...although it wouldn't surprise me if it is.

I don't think Michael had a sexual thing for kids, or was a pedophile...I think he just felt like he was a kid trapped in an adult's body, so he saw it as being ok to have kids sleep over and stay in his bed with him as if he was a kid too. His father beating him when he was young, and pushing him real hard during his Jackson 5 days really deprived him of his childhood...so he felt that he was living the childhood he never had, but couldn't somehow comprehend that being an adult and sleeping in the same bed with children who where not your own was a definite no no.

I hope it's true and they make a big story out of it, otherwise all the media hounds will stay in their holes convinced that there's no possibility he's innocent.

David Bowie was arrested for drugs. Johnny Cash and Jimi Hendrix were once busted trying to smuggle drugs into the country. Tupac Shakur sexually assaulted a groupie. Eminem has assault and weapons convictions. Jay-Z stabbed a record exec. Scott Weiland can't stay out of rehab. T.I. is in prison even as I type this. Marilyn Manson was arrested for a criminal sexual act.

I could go on, but the list is too long.

Why is it that we've picked Michael Jackson out of all of these to be the one bad guy in the music industry? How can we seriously condemn him and then continue to support both mentally and financially all these other entertainers whose hands are dirtier? No wonder Michael was so crazy, having to be the scapegoat for an entire fucked up industry.

Frankly, I think it's racism. White people didn't like him because he was an African-American trying to pass. Black people didn't like him for the same damn reason.

I think its that child molestation is such a hated crime in our culture and has such a horrible stigma attached to it , that to be accused of it is to be convicted in the court of public opinion.

Heck, Don King shot a guy and no one makes a big deal of it. Michael Jackson was a very sick person whether he molested or not. His life was very tragic.

That's what I keep trying to tell people. It just looked bad, but to him it was harmless fun and a childhood memory he never had.

I agree in part velcrohead. However when sexual acts against a child are believed to have taken place, people take that more serious than any other crime except (and in some cases more so)than murder.

The endless surgical procedures all to make him look more like a White woman were VERY odd. Whites found it funny and Blacks saw him as a sellout to his race.

Wearing a surgical mask in public and wearing pajamas to court was also odd. Also lets not forget the baby over the rail thing.

I agree with retromaniac that his fucked up childhood is to blame and that he didn't abuse any children. Regardless he was a celebrity and did these things to bring attention to himself.

I really think his death was nothing more than a drug addiction. The reason for the addiction may never fully be known.

True, but Roman Polanski fucked a 13 year old, and people can't wait to make movies with him.

I'm just sayin', we pick this ONE guy to get all morally outraged over, and then we turn around and throw our money at people who do much worse.

Possibly, but you can bet it won't be without the permission of the executors of his estate. You can bet they'll be protecting those publishing rights.

Fortunately, from what I've read, the Beatles song catalogue (which MJ owned) was left in the will to Paul McCartney.

Drug smuggling, drug posession, going to rehab, or stabbing a record exec isn't the same as child molestation. Maybe the guy didn't do it, but the fact of the matter is you don't know if he did or didn't. The reason why he was picked as he bad guy is because the crime he was accused of was cornholing children, not trying to smuggle some dope into the country. Velcrohead, I take it you are a huge MJ fan, and that is fine, but don't let that skew your POV so much, because you have made some craziest statements I have ever read, and all because the guy made some music you loved. I'm not saying he was guilty, but I'm not going to let the mans talents blind me and just refuse to believe he could do no wrong just because he recorded Thriller.

I never once said he didn't do anything wrong. (Of course we don't KNOW he did. It has never been proven. But that's another story.)

My point was not to excuse any aberrance in his behavior, but to point out the hypocrisy of most people's stance against him. We accept for more flamboyant and outrageous behavior from superstars on any given day. Hell, look at us, we turned OJ Simpson loose just because he used to be able to throw a damn football. We've got rap stars going in and out of jail, murdering people, raping women, etc, etc, and we can't wait to buy their next album.

Example: Tupac Shakur's album "Me Against the World" was number one on the Billboard 200 while he was serving time for sexual assault. You want to tell me that rape is somehow less offensive a crime than pedophilia? Something that was never even proven?

Full disclosure: I was a huge MJ fan as a kid. As a teenager, I thought most of his 90's era music was sort of meh. And as an adult, I think his later stuff REALLY blows. So I'm not this rabid MJ fanboy.

I just think it's really time we stopped being hypocrites about the whole thing. Yes, MJ was a DEEPLY DEEPLY FLAWED person. Yes, he was batshit crazy.

But damn it, amongst the weirdos, pedos and psychos in the music industry, that barely makes him notable or distinguishable.

And you saying that he is guilty doesn't make it so.

Unless you're claiming omniscience and can see everything, aside from the sensationalist stories that we get spoonfed every day.

I would say raping a kid is worse than raping an adult. Kids are more helpless, but I've never been raped, so I really have no pull on the matter. Also, O.J. was a running back, throwing the football was nowhere in his job description. And if we're going to play the race card to make MJ a martyr, you can't really go back and use O.J. as an example. Everybody knows he committed murder, not even Dave Chappelle is arguing that anymore, and all the guy got was a civil judgement against him. The guy actually got away with murder.
