This decade has been a wonderful decade for me, and I know that things will get even better. 2010 will be something great for me.

Also, 00s nostalgia will finally begin. It may be too soon for many people on here, but I'm still not comfortable with 90s nostalgia...Then again, the 90s was very rough for me, and so while I do enjoy some pop culture of the decade, all in all, I will never harbor fondness for that time.

Wow, 00's nostalgia? I think that might still be a few years off considering the 90's nostalgia is only beginning, but I can understand why you wouldn't want to think about that. On another note it will be interesting to see what people remember.
Recipe for nostalgia: Mix 80's and 90's culture. Stir in some good memories. Add a dash of reflection. Mixture should now taste bittersweet. Shake well and enjoy!

To me, it seems like now much of the pop culture of the 80s has been established as classic...Not something to be nostalgiac for, but instead as something legit. 80s movies can regularly be found on best-of lists relating to film topics of all sorts, 80s music is now being recognized for its' content and not its' look, the impact of popular 80s TV shows is being acknowledged...I'm glad that now the pop culture of the 80s has finally been accepted, and if 90s nostalgia has been around for several years, I can rest easy knowing that the pop culture of my favorite decade has been accepted and is no longer vilified...Well, most of it isn't.

I think so however I sure hope there is more to look forward to than gas prices rising again, a continued shitty economy, my 10 year high school reunion (2014) and a president who built us all up on false hope.

Give me a break. I don't think we'll see the first nostalgia for the 2000's until at least 2020...

Then we'll get people arguing about who is a true 00's kid.

and people whining about the fact that the 2010s cartoons suck and that the 2000s cartoons were better.

Wow. 10 years since 2000. I remember when the clock struck midnight, and it rolled over into the 2000s. I was 6 years old.

I have a Arkansan newspaper dated January 1, 2000. On the front page it says "First Party of 2000", and it shows some partygoers at a downtown party. I read inside and find a column titled "what should we call the new decade?" and a lot more interesting stuff.

I do have a feeling that some 1990s styles and trends will be coming back. In the 2000s, 80s culture started rising back to popularity. This was reflected in movie remakes, styles of clothing, and some music. Maybe the 1990s will resurface in the 2010s.

I think 2014/2015 is more accurate. Around 1994/1995, the seeds of 80s nostalgia were sewn with music compilations, radio shows, dance parties, and movies being showcased as 80s on various channels. In 2004, VH1 debuted "I Love The 90s", and the same thing happened with 90s culture. I think that 2014/2015 will see the beginning of 00s nostalgia...That's just my theory, though.

Nostalgic for this decade? Sorry but 00s was (this is) a very hard decade for me and I think the only time I'll be nostalgic for it is for the early 00s, graduation, Obama, friends and internet. But other than that I'll pass. Forget this decade move on. I'm not saying it's the worst decade ever because one it's silly and two there will be other decades probably worst than this so just hope for the best. GO 2010!!!!

Good point. However, as much as I love the 80s I hate how this decade tried to bring it back. I'm sorry but what came out of the decade STAYS in the decade. I wish people would just let the 80s die already.
