How is that lineup any different from the current one? All those cartoons are stinkin up the current CN airwaves so whats the difference? Maybe if there were some RETRO stuff then that would be a Cartoon Network worth watching.
    WHAT?

As far as I know, online petitions do not really count for anything.

So CN doesn't show Detective Conan anymore? You guys are so missing out on a very good series. I just recently watched movie 9 and episode 96 a while back and both were pretty good. Movie 9 especially. I must say that movies 9, 4, and 5 are my absolute favorites.

Yep, it's so good, that the series is celebrating it's 10th anniversary this year, and movie 10 comes out this spring in Japan. Can't wait until it gets on DVD so the "foreigners" can see it. One cool thing about the movies, is that at the end of a movie, they show a brief synposis as to what the next movie is going to be about. I'm highly interested in movie 10. If you want, I can put up a list of the movies, and a brief plot description of each. Never mind, I'll do it anyway, since I'm in "Detective Conan" high, but I'll have to do it later since I'm at work now. lol

    Sounds good

I didn't know they had CC movies out, iirc there was a SNES game based off Detective Conan (aka Case Closed).

Okay, back and I can do a synopsis now. That aside, most anime series have at least one movie and it also helps to figure how long a series has been on for some. Let's take Detective Conan, for example. It started in 1996, and there's been a movie for it every year since then. . Same goes for Pokemon. It's been on since 1997 over there, and if I'm not mistaken, has eight movies and about to release another one during the Anime Film Festival (the summer one; Pokemon movies always seem to be released in July over there). The Detective Conan movies are always shown during (or close to) Golden Week over there, which is the week between April and May to my knowledge, and it also explains why "May 3" is important in movie 1. :p

Anywho, here go the summaries, and for the record, the only movie I haven't seen all the way through is the third one, and I also don't know the dub names, so sorry about that.

Movie 01: Meitantei Conan: Tokei Jikake no Matenrou [Detective Conan: The Timed Skyscraper] (April 19, 1997)
For this movie, it acknowledges Shinichi's birthday. Anywho, Conan ends up visiting Professor Agasa and found a letter addressed to him (Shinichi) to attend a garden party, which was being given by a famous architect (Moriya Teiji) who was known for his "left-right symmetry". Conan decides to call Ran (as Shinichi) and asks if she could go in his place.

Ran complains some about how she couldn't, and how she has to see a movie with him on May 3. Shinichi, hastily, agrees. One other thing that was interesting, was before they hang up, Ran asked which color Shinichi preferred, Red or Blue. Shinichi ended up picking red. This isn't really significant to the plot as a whole, but if you see the movie, you'll understand why Ran asked that question. Also, Conan was having a tough time trying to figure out the significance of May 3 since it's not a holiday or anything like that. Back to the "Red" and "Blue" thing, in Japan there are quite a few things that determines compatability and such, like the zodiac, blood type, etc. Ran explained this in the movie, but the answer Shinichi gave was a way of showing if the two were compatible or something like that.

As the story continues, there's a robbery. Chemicals were stolen, and later on, there were threats of bombs on the train lines of the area as well as a building, which Ran is actually trapped in. Conan tries his best to stop the city's train lines and the building's bomb from exploding.

For the one in the building, Ran was the one who had to difuse it, with help from Shinichi. Oh, if you really want to know what the significance was of "May 3", just let me know and I'll tell ya.

Movie 02: Meitantei Conan: 14 banme no Target [Detective Conan: The Fourteenth Target] (April 18, 199
For this one, I can't remember much. I just remember Ran kept having dreams of her mother being shot. A reoccuring dream she's had for years and didn't know why exactly.

Now, for this movie, it helps if you know your "numbers". This guy, a wine taster (think it was) invited Kogoro and others to his underwater type resteraunt, if I'm remembering right. There were murders prior to this, and this guy and all that were invited, were targets. Anyway, everytime someone was killed, a clue was left behind. Everyone's name, had some kind of a number reference or a kanji that could be read as a number in their name. Anyway, by this, they figured out who would be the next victim based on this.

Anyway, at the end, you find out why Ran had such bad dreams about her mother's being shot; she'd seen it as a kid but blocked it out, and the one to shoot her mother, was her father (Kogoro). This was when Kogoro was still on the police force. There was a hostage situation, and his wife was the hostage. He shot her.

At the end, the killer used the same scenario, only this time using Ran. Conan had the gun, he had to make the decision. He then figured out what to do, etc. etc. etc.

I think I'll rewatch this one this weekend, so I can give a better description.

Movie 03: Meitantei Conan: Seiki Matsu no Majutsushi [Detective Conan: The Last Magician of the Century] (April 17, 1999)
For this one, the Kaitou Kid, (not sure if he's been in the dub or not yet), who is a very skilled thief, who Shinichi can never seem to catch, goes on to say that he's planning to steal the Russian Imperial Easter Egg, which was being kept in a museum (iirc...I saw some of this movie, just not all) in Osaka.

He keeps leaving out notes for the police to try and catch him, if they can. At this point, Conan had already encountered the Kaitou Kid on a couple of previous occasions, but, as I stated earlier, has never been able to actually catch him.

"Will Conan be able to protect the egg, and stop Kaitou Kid...with many plot twists, this proves not to be a simple case of stopping a robbery."

Movie 04: Meitantei Conan: Hitomi no naka no Ansatsusha [Detective Conan: Captured in Her Eyes] (April 22, 2000)
This was a pretty cute movie and perfect for the Shinichi x Ran fans, especially with what Shinichi (as Conan) told Ran. :p Anywho, for this movie, police officers are being targeted and murdered. Since the victims seemed to be police officers, they were thinking that the perp had some connection with them.

During a party (I think it was), Satou Keiji (not sure if this character has been shown for the dub yet either) was shot and injured, and one person saw it. This person was Ran. Since it was so traumatic, she ended up losing her memory of practically everything. She didn't even recognize her own mother and father. The killer knows that Ran saw him, and is now after Ran.

Ran does get her memory back, eventually, and what helped her memory to come back, has a lot to do with when she was in that amusement park with Shinichi in episode 1.

Movie 05: Meitantei Conan: Tengoku no Countdown [Detective Conan: Countdown to Heaven] (April 21, 2001)
This movie was pretty cool too. Anywho, there's a new twin-tower like building in the city of Nishitamashi, and it was about to open soon. The pun here is that due to how tall these buildings are, "the towers seem to reach the heavens when seen from below". Conan, who was with Profesor Agasa and the other kids, were on their way back home from a camping trip (if I'm remembering right) and stopped at the building to get a look. When arriving there, they run into Ran, Sonoko (the rich girl that's best friends with Ran), and Kogoro. Kogoro was visiting the buildings, and the president of the group that runs the place, is an old college friend of his by the name of Mio. Mio was showing Kogoro and the others around the building before its grand opening.

While there, Conan overheard some workers talking about a strange car parked in front of the building. A black car, which could've belonged to the guy that forced Shinichi into taking the drug. For this movie, the City Councilman (at the grand opening) was murdered. So, Conan is trying his best to solve the case of the murder of the councilman, while trying to figure out why the dark organization (kurozukume) that forced him the drug is interested in the buildings.

Movie 06: Meitantei Conan: Baker Street no Bourei [Detective Conan: Phantom of Baker Street] (April 20, 2002)
Up to a point, this was my favorite of them, but that changed after seeing movie 9. Anywho, for this one, Conan and other kids, including Ai (I know she hasn't been in the show for the dub yet and her background story is really interesting; she's a fav for me) and the other kids Conan hangs with, were invited to a party. The kids were there to test some new game system. There was a murder and Conan is going in the game to figure out who the murderer is, and is doing so with the help of Sherlock Holmes. If the kids "lose" they will die, pretty much, and there were 50, including himself, Ran, Sonoko, etc.

The type of game one played depended on what one chose. For Conan and his friends, he chose the "Sherlock Holmes" world and it was cool, because for that, he had to solve the case in finding out the identity of Jack the Ripper. They even had a language barrier problem too, since the characters were speaking English.

Movie 07: Meitantei Conan: Meikyuu no Crossroad [Detective Conan: Crossroads In The Ancient Capital] (April 19, 2003)
This movie, I can honestly say I doubt it'll ever be translated over. The title pretty much show this. The ancient capital of Japan is Kyoto, which is where this movie takes place and one to really get it, has to understand the geography of the city, since the "roads" were the clue.

Anywho, the movie started by showing some guys holding some secret meeting in a temple of Tokyo. Some shadowy type guy showed up in a mask (Okina mask) and used a sword and bow and killed all three men. While this was happening in Tokyo, a couple of other guys were murdered in both Osaka and Kyoto. All of the men who were killed, were members of this old group called the Genjibotaru, which consisted of a group of thieves who would steal art pieces and such from Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.

Kogoro, Conan, Ran, and Sonoko all go to Kyoto and meet up with Heiji (the other teen detective). Heiji is pretty much the star of this movie (he is from Kyoto after all). The solving of this case was a bit tricky, since they had to use the crossroads. Oh, and for this movie, Conan gets his "adult body" back temporarily.

Movie 08: Meitantei Conan: Ginyoku no Kijyutsushi [Detective Conan: Magician of the Silver Sky] (April 17, 2004)
The Kaito Kid is back for this one. Anywho, there's this actress who asked Kogoro to protect some jewel she has, which the Kaitou Kid had said he was planning on stealing.

It was pretty funny, because on the day that the jewel was stolen, the Kaito Kid dressed as Shinichi and showed Conan up. It was hilarious because he was claiming to be the real "Kudo Shinichi" when Conan was standing right there. Too bad he got away.

Anyway, to thank them for protecting the jewel, or whatever, the actress invited Kogoro and his family/friends to Sapporo. To get there, they had to fly, but you find out that there was more to this case than just the jewel. A lot of stuff happens up there, and the actress is killed by poison.

It was interesting, because the pilots ended up poisoned as well (if I'm remembering right). A certain someone had to "land the plane", but I won't spoil it.

Movie 09: Meitantei Conan: Suiheisenhyou no Inbou [Detective Conan: Strategy Above The Depths] (April 9, 2005)
This is the coolest of 'em, in my opinion. Anywho, 15 years earlier, a cargo ship by the name of "Daiichi Yachiyo Maru" ended up crashing into a large iceberg in the northern Pacific Ocean. It ended up sinking. The captain of the ship as well as the crew died.

Back to the present, in Nishitama, a man who was a ship designer of the Yatsuhiro Financial Combine, had a heart attack unexepectedly while driving from his home. He ended up driving off of a cliff because of it. His home was like a secluded, mountain home. We also find out that this was no accident, and that he didn't die of a natural cause, but was murdered. It's all connected to the sinking of that ship 15 years earlier.

Six months further, we now see Conan and the others enjoying a nice holiday on a luxury cruise ship called the Aphrodite. On the ship, though, is a suspicious person (naturally) and a murder is committed. Conan has to solve the case, but ironically, he doesn't. He figures everything out, of course, but the one to solve the case was...

Movie 10: Meitantei Conan: Tantei-tachi no Chinkonka [Detective Conan: Requiem of the Detectives] (April 15, 2006)
Kogoro and Conan goes to Yokohama after accepting a case from a mysterious man. However, they fall into his trap and Ran and the Detective Boys are taken hostage. There is a 12hour time limit. If they don't solve the case before then, the bombs attached to Ran and the others will explode. Furthermore, those men knew Conan's real identify was Kudo Shinichi!

Even Hattori Heiji, "the High School Detective of the West", and Kaitou Kid will appear!

Time is ticking. Can Conan and the others solve the case in time and resucue Ran!?

And who is the mysterious client, the identity of the black shadow...?

There you go. The summaries for all ten movies.

Yeah, what ever happened to Justice League Unlimited, I really enjoyed that show, even more than the first Justice League series. I would also like them to return the new eps of the new TMNT and Transformers Cybertron series.
