I love that they are 24 hours. They are only in the south so many of you may have never have them.

My second choice would be Jack in the Box.

Oh wait which one did I like as a kid? I would have to say Burger King.

My favorite fast food retuarant would have to be McDonald's, we used to have a McDonald's that was built in the 70's but they tore that down late last year and now we have a new McDonald's. I'm not even sure why they tore down the old one.

They did the same thing here with several of the ones built in the 70s. They tore the old one down and built the new one on the same lot. I think they want all of the stores to have some what of a uniform layout and to do that required starting from scratch rather than just remodeling.

There are several McDonalds around here that have closed completely though new ones have opened in different locations. I think the hard times they had in the late 90s was the reason. The other was the neighborhoods got too bad.

Carl's Jr.
Burger King
*Bob's Burger Express

*Bob's was a chain of restaurants around the Salem/Keizer area in Oregon. In 2000, Bob's went broke, and all 6 locations shut down for good. The only thing that exists from Bob's today is the secret sauce they used on their burgers.

There's a small chain in Toronto called John Anderson's, named after an ex-Maple Leafs player. The one I'm thinking of used to be near where I lived, on Yonge St. near Church St. and Ellerslie Ave. Now the same restaurant is on Yonge St. just South of the Finch St. bus terminal. It was basically a privately run greasy spoon, and it had great:

-Souvlaki dinner (juicy, big pieces of pork, big Greek salad, fries, garlic bread) this is actually about my favorite main course in general

-Souvlaki on a bun with tomatos and IIRC onions...mmm

-Big burgers

-Steak on a kaiser

When I was very young, I was obsessed with McDonald's because a lot of people were talking about it back then and I thought it was like a paradise or something. Today, people still talk a lot about them, but mostly about how much Ronald himself can give you nightmares or something, while the documentary movie "Super Size Me" made several people step further away from McDonald's, and created some fan-made images of Ronald being killed by The "new" Burger King (which there was an old one).

A few years later, Central Park became my next favorite. There fries were coated and can be served in drink cups when you say you want a "Bucket O' Fries". Today, I still like eating there, but my favorite fast food to eat at today is Hardee's, because their Thickburgers and fries taste like homemade and are inexpensive.

EDIT: If that link to Central Park's website doesn't work, type in "Central Park burgers" at Google, then click on the first link. Otherwise, click here.

I loved McDonalds when I was kid. Did anyone else have birthday parties there? It was a fun place back in the late 80's-early 90's

When I was a kid: McDonalds and Burger King.

Now: Dairy Queen. I like the super chili-cheese dog, and I love their charbroiled burgers. Their onion rings are the best.
