    I rented it, the demo just did not convince me enough to buy it. Although I am enjoying it and really just playing for the story.

    Is anyone in a way disappointed with the game? Aside from the addition of co-op, this really just feels like RE 4 in Africa (which is basically is).

    Now I don't want to start a lame fight over this, I am just wondering if anyone else feels a little let down?

    I knew from the start the game was more likely just going to be a refinement of RE 4 so I'm not disappointed. The only thing that bothers me is having a partner. That's never the way RE games were before and I kind of wish they'd go back to the older style where your character is by his or herself.

    Yeah, the whole partner thing, I am on the fence about.

    For one Sheva is stupid, the A.I doesn't think to combine ammo or herbs to save space and she goes through ammo quick. They should of just had a partner for co-op and then you be alone in single player.

    Another thing that disappoints me about this game is the setting. RE4 was cool but half way through the castle I was just like "Why the fuck am I in a castle in a RE game?" Now in RE 5 I am running through tribal villages and it just feels a little ridiculous.

    At this point in the series I wanted to be infiltrating Umbrella HQ and taking on some seriously fucked up monsters. Well maybe in RE 6, of course that game will probably be set in some small town in Ireland.

    Well the series is reinventing itself through different expermentations of making something different. But they did brought back the zombies although these zombies are more like the ones in "Return of the Living Dead".

    Sheva mixes herbs and combines ammo for me, but i agree, i'd rather not have a partner.

    As for the setting, if you follow the story line, the last time you fought umbrella was in either nemesis or veronica. ( i don't remember which chronologically came last) Umbrella is no more, after umbrellas bankruptcy the s.t.a.r.s. also are no more. Everyone now is just more or less chasing around Wesker to various parts of the world as he distributes the virus to small terrorist groups. hence why in re4 you were in castles and in re5 tribal villages.

    In re5, you get to run around in the very first umbrella hq engaging some old favorite enemies around chapter 5-1 to 5-3.

    Haven't gotten it yet, but I HAVE played the demo. So far, it looks amazing, though I'm kind of disappointed that they used to same game play from RE4. Don't get me wrong, RE4 was awesome, but it just wasn't the same as the earlier games in the series. Nevertheless, I'm still looking forward to getting RE5 for my PS3.

    Got it Friday. I'm currently on Wesker's final form and so far it's been a bitch.

    Settings.

    Yeah I get that, I guess RE 4 and RE 5 didnt feel like a RE game until I got to the labs.

    ::SPOILERS::
    It was cool to see the lickers back and more fierce, also see some zombies on that conveyer belt (at least i think they are zombies). I am dissapointed with the Spencer part of the story. Heres someone who we have never seen and I was hoping for some kind of build up to him and you only see him in flash backs and Wesker tears him a new one. Also whats with the whole "Wesker being created"? What is he Sephiroth now?
    :End Spoilers:;

    I dont know, I just feel like the story could of been a little better and I would of like to of seen, other STARS members. Like between Chris, Jill, Barry, Rebecca, You could pick who you play as and then pick your partner and each character would have their own skills. Chris is strong, Jill is the master of unlocking, Barry is good with guns, and Rebecca can mix herbs. At least the whole game should of been Chris and Jill as partners, but then again that would alter the story.

    I got this last night and I'm loving it! I'm in chapter 6-2 on co-op, normal difficulty. Im going to immediately start a single player game on veteran once we finish the game.

    And yes, I was somewhat disappointed but Im not sure why. Once I played RE4, all the other games in the series instantly became shit to me. I tried going back and playing them again but the camera and controls are just embarrassing. But, I think the reason I may like RE4 more than RE5 is simply because of the menus/inventory/shop. and of course, no Leon. Hes the best!

    I hear ya, i think Wesker is more of a blonde neo than a sephiroth hehe. The best part of the game for me so far is merc mode.

    Anyone thinks Wesker sounds like David Bowie with his voice?

    Ok so I just finished the game and I gotta say what a weak ending. We learn nothing of the other STARS members and nothing is ever mentioned of Sherry. What the fuck Capcom, come on.

    I really hope for now on they just focus on awesome remakes. Darkside Chronicles, rail shooter or not, it will just be nice to be back in Raccoon City.

    It's time for me to dream a little dream... now with the days of DLC upon us I don't want to see $5.00 versus modes that should have been included on the disc in the first place. I want downloadable content to make the bad guys look more like the original zombies... I want a DLC mission set in Racoon city's police dept.... I want a nemesis or tyrant mission added, with or without leon involved (look at what was done with GTA4 lost and the damned).... that is my dream, and I will dream it till it becomes reality (or someone slaps me accross my face)

    I'm renting it right now and playing co-op with my son. I've only got as far as Ch 4 and haven't seen any of those stupid puzzles yet. Well unless you count the pieces for a door. My only complaints are:
    1) You can't buy ammo.
    2) You can't go solo.
    3) You can't run and shoot.

    I do like the fact that there isn't any backtracking (at least as far as I have gotten.) The shooting missions are pretty fun too.

    I don't have a problem so much going through the tribal villages, the problem is you have a partner and the game is set during the day. That makes for a lot less intimidating atmosphere. We'll see what they do with the next game. I actually really like RE 4 and 5 but the series, or at least Chris Redfield's story, has to conclude at some point and I want that conclusion to be as epic as possible. Set it in some high tech facility and have a return of past monsters along with recent ones.
