For me Sublime is overrated. They are a good band but seriously somehow they're the freakin' poster boys of Ska. What about The Specials? The English Beat? Men At Work?
Both NIN and U2, not just because of their overratedness, but because of the type of fans I encountered that liked their music. I graduated with a huge douchebag that was so obsessed with NIN, he actually dressed like Trent Reznor for Halloween our freshman year. And as for U2, there is a one particular wrestling forum where there was/is a mod that would actually ban people if they spoke badly about his precious band. So yeah.

Garfield: "The local bus transit is doing their part to help with the weight loss program: each year, they stop further and further away from the curb!
Pearl Jam's 90's stuff is really cool, but I'm not into them anymore now.
Also, just about any band widely considered to be among the best or most influential bands ever, like Led Zeppelin. I'll admit, they play well, but I just don't like their songwriting, and I believe that's what makes good music.
That and people tend to compare Rush to them. It really annoys me because they're not alike.
There is way too much Green Day being played on radio. awful
I walk a lonely road The only one that I have ever known
That song sounded an awful lot like Wonderwall by Oasis.

Dragonforce, Nickelback, AC/DC, Pantera (though they're not terrible or anything), and I definitely agree with my girlfriend about Led Zeppelin.
What surprised me the most was how many people thought Tool is overrated. Definitely not the greatest band ever, but I thought they were easily the best band that had their start during the 90's.
Let me throw in my two cents on U2. I fucking hate U2. I despise them. Bono is such a retarded jacktard and hypocrite. If he cared so much for the world, why doesn't he set an example by selling his mansions. Live in a house thats a normal size. Donate his millions to charity and the unfortunate. Leave enough for himself to get by on.
U2's latest tour is the most costly tour to record. Not to mention the most 'ungreen'. The power they need is insane. As well as their tour bus needs. I thought the band was one of those global warming enthusiasts. What an asshole band.
