I post on IMDB sometimes, but I agree about how a lot of the people can be assholes, I usually just check it out to see what people say about the movies, but I mostly stick to posting on the older movies, less drama.

Yep exactly that's what I mostly do I don't fuck are with them.

I actually have been on IMDB a lot, but never bothered to look at the message board.

I sometimes use it for movie info, but now i know i'm not going to the forums over there anytime soon.

I quit going to IMDB forums a long time ago because of the trolling and flaming over there. What really stopped me from going on there is when I I was posting on a board for the movie Thirteen, and posted some opinions (like the others) about why kids keep getting into bad situations.

The next thing I know I had some trolls take things out of context and started flaming and harassing me on the same board. One resorted to pointless name calls and clearly didn't read what I had said. Then someone (who I believe was a female goth), kept posting stupid and rude insults under multiple accounts. She tried to get me to believe her friends and boyfriend were also posting .

The admins wouldn't do anything, only the op had warned them to stop posting. But I quit either way. I now just go to look at movies in the bottom 100, as well as user comments and ratings for various movies and shows and the photos .

I even thought about posting a board asking what the worst forums someone has ever been to in chit chat last year, and listing imdb forums as one of them, but I didn't get to. I don't think the admins here would allow it.

Video may have killed the radio star, but reality crapfests killed the video.

I use IMDb for references and such. I only go to the forums if I'm looking for a specific question. The trolls there are a bunch of idiots. They seriously make the trolls here look intelligent.

I visit IMDB quite frequently, but I avoid the forums. The users there in particular don't care about anyone else than themselves, and they will act as slobs if they have to prove it.

Also if you happen to look on their forums for particular shows and people, such as Miley Cyrus, Hannah Montana, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, you're bound to find nothing but wannabes acting as know-it-alls.

    A sad state of affairs.

I'm not surprised because I have encountered groupies such as those plenty of times.

How sad is it to go post on the forums on your favorite show and you find nothing but posers and losers just trying to make you feel bad?

Actually, I have been on imbd boards. You can sense when the trollies come in. Sometimes I can get in real philisophical debate over movies sometimes.

IMDB is the Google of movies & TV shows... extremely popular, and extremely reliable, almost the Bible of movies & TV shows.

The message boards, however... leave little to be desired. I visit the message boards very frequently sometimes to find opinions, questions, and other talk about that specific movie/TV show.

However, with EVERY movie or TV Show, you are 100% sure to find at least one thread that says the movie or show sucks, with little to nothing to back it up. You'll read a thread saying "This is the WORST movie I've ever seen!".

That's basically a troll, as with other off-topic posts, and I just report it... it'll usually get removed within hours, so their Admins do a decent job of removing threads/users so as long as they're reported.

If I just watched some 80's movie or even a recent movie on DVD, the first thing I'll do is pop on IMDB to check out some of the fun-facts & trivia, then goto the forums to check out what other users had to say about it.

The forums suck. I visited their forums a few times and I can't stand them. I don't mind the rest of the site though.

It happen to me sometimes but it happen all the time on different sites on YouTube, Retroland, and on this one too. You can't even have fun talking with someone about the past. Without somebody out there who has soul purpose is to disagreed and to destroy your childhood memories.
