TDTDS was my least favorite of all the horror anthology. It's like the series tried to be part horror part Twilight Zone and sometimes the stories came off a bit weak. The movie was even worst...

I remember seeing one where this monster lived in a closet and it turned out to be the homeowner's daughter. The monster ended up killing a girl that was living in a room in the house.

I have to agree. Tales from the Darkside was a little before my time, even in reruns, but I've watched a little of it before when the SciFi Channel has had marathons -- like yesterday, but I didn't watch. I found Tales from the Darkside to be boring and kind of lame. The show has definitely aged badly.
I think my favorite SciFi/" horror anthology" has to be The Outer Limits from the 1990s. I like The Twilight Zone from the 60s too.

I liked TFTDS. I found the intro and its music pretty creepy. It still gives me chills listening to it.

"Tales From The Crypt" and "Monsters" were other outstanding shows.

I liked the one with Jerry Stiller as the radio host and the one with the Grither, that one always cracks me up.
