    I'll put down a vote for Vangelis and Blade Runner. It is quite a trip and established the mood for the cyberpunk genre.

    My soundtrack collection and exposure is sadly somewhat lame these days

    Most or all of contents of these movie soundtracks are great:
    * Titan A.E. (I can't believe I didn't see this mentioned!)
    * Army of Darkness (Again, I can't believe I didn't see this mentioned!)
    * Snatch
    * The Matrix
    * The Crow

    And only parts of these are great:
    * Spawn
    * The Craft
    * The Last of the Mohicans (most of the CD is the same song in various forms, so it doesn't get full credit)
    * Singles

    Computer Game soundtracks (since somebody already mentioned Quake)
    * Hexen II (especially great for ambient music for tabletop roleplaying)
    * Age of Empires II
    * Sacrifice
    * Black & White
    * All of the Quake I and II (including expansions) soundtracks

    I can't believe somebody actually included the Blade soundtrack in their list. "Song from and inspired by" if I recall the wording on the CD. Inspired by a session in the toilet after some bad seafood perhaps! The only good thing about this CD, if you ask me, is that there was only 1 copy left when my best friend and I rushed out to buy it. I begrudgingly let him buy it instead of me - and I've felt lucky ever since.

    I must get around to buying The Crow score CD, since the basic soundtrack doesn't have Eric Draven's rooftop guitar solo or the song "It can't rain all the time..." from the his band (Hangman's Noose? I can't remember off the top of my head). That said, it's a great soundtrack anyway and I think that (at least from my perspective on the world) it single-handedly (or is that single-CDedly?) brought the idea of a movie soundtrack to public attention as a stand-alone source of music for anyone, and not just for hardcore fans of a movie.

    Fight Club, like The Crow, had an important song missing. But where The Crow was pure class anyway and its minor omission didn't concern me, I came close to busting apart my Fight Club CD (I am fanatically careful about my beloved CDs usually). The opening song of the movie should be the opening song of the CD, for starters, but from memory it's track 6. And - now this is the biggie - it doesn't have the fade-to-black(or is that fade-to-porn?) song at the end. I absolutely love that song, and I felt extremely betrayed by its omission.

    I can listen to the Fight Club soundtrack and enjoy it now...years later...because I've learned to chill out a bit. Plus, of course, I just watch the movie yet one more time if I need my Fight Club dose.

    I know; I ramble.

    Benesato.

    I think Disney wins hands down. I mean during 1989-1999 when they had those Broadway based cartoons with the most memorable songs, then Peabo Bryson and another artist would cover the main theme song and release it as a popular single.

    Why Disney messed up this formula is beyond me. Their animation division would still be thriving had they still stuck to it.

    Oooh, lots of good ones there! Labyrinth, Dazed and Confused, The Wedding Singer.....but I've got a guilty pleasure one...I've got to know if anyone else is dorky enough to admit that the music from the movie Teen Witch is actually really good?! I was just thinking about it the other day and songs like "Top That" "I Want to Be the Most Popular Girl" and "I Like Boys" really stick in your head after you've heard them! LOL Ah, I'm probably going to regret posting this one in about 5 minutes!!

    Oh man. I haven't seen that movie in years and years. I can't say I love this soundtrack as much as you do. But you're right, they do stick in your head.

    Batman (1989.) Prince laid the smackdown on "Batdance." All the Batman movies had great soundtracks, though, even that George Clooney flop Batman and Robin. I loved Eric Benet's tune and Moloko's tune.
