So if you pollute the world with a half a dozen kids or more, you get to be famous and get free expensive housing, clothing, food and other necessities etc., etc., etc. Somethings not right about this picture.

I lead a normal life and I'm not polluting the world for my own gain. What do I get???
I gotta have more cowbell babies!!!
I have a fever and the only cure is more cowbell!!!

We have to stop watching this kind of shit or else we get more octopussies, bottom line there is too many useless people in this world already and if we support these shows that pay thousands to showcase their lack of good judgement, then we will be over run.

I said it here before.... the Duggars make their own money and if they want that many kids they have every right to. Who are we to judge this family?

It's not them so much that creates problems, it's the media that focuses on large families and awards their type with TV contracts that is dangerous

I watched their show on TLC for the first time and I do think they are good people. The children despite being home schooled seem pretty normal too.

Oh and on the octumom thing. The Duggars had them naturally, the octumom didn't.

I feel sorry for the older kids...they didn't get much of a childhood cause they had to take care of the younger ones....it would suck

I say they're self-sufficient, are upper middle-class and can obviously afford their family (has anyone seen their mansion of a house?), and they don't rely on anyone else to take care of their children except THEM. Therefore, I don't see why it should bother anyone else for any other reason than it's somewhat "different". Not everyone wants just one or two kids and then want to call it quits. Believe it or not, families like the Duggar's were commonplace 150 to 200 years ago right here in America. I never forgot reading that one of the most revered figures in American history, Ben Franklin, came from a family of 20 children.

Good for the Duggar's, they seem happy!

Oh, please. People will continue to have large families regardless of some people's concern over overpopulation. Besides, I don't think that is their concern, and why should it be? All that matters to them is if their family is healthy, well-provided for, and happy. And really, those are the only things that should matter.

I think it does. Other people may not feel the same way but other people are not caring for the Duggars' family. My perspective is that people are entitled to their opinions on this matter, but when it comes right down it, those opinions shouldn't have any influence on other people's choices. The fact remains that people who are obviously capable of having and caring (financially and emotionally) for large families, and WANT large families, should go ahead and do what is the right decision for them. It doesn't matter what certain people in society think. Those other people in society are not footing the bills for food, diapers, clothing, education, etc. Families like the Duggar's are. People are individuals and can make their own decisions.
