    		 I have been hearing a lot about the PS3 not selling very well.
    What advice would you give to Sony to help it sell?

    I would advise them to bring back PS2 backwards compatibility!

    Doing so would encourage those who have PS2s (and have not yet upgraded) to make PS3 the choice of new generation.

    Although this next part doesn't count as additional advice for Sony, I would like to see a 180GB PS3 hit the shelves, which would restore not just PS2 backwards compatibility, but also the memory card slots and the 3rd/4th USB ports.

    How would you help Sony sell the PS3?

    		 Get the price down to $300, that is what's really hurting it right now. The 360 can be had for $200 cheaper, has most of the same games and most of those games actually perform better on the 360. So big issue is price. The other thing, start locking up exclusives. When you have the most expensive system you need to find other ways to entice people to buy your console. Last-gen they had Virtua Fighter, Final Fantasy, Grand Theft Auto, Devil May Cry and Tekken all as exclusives/timed-exclusives. This gen, none of those are exclusive, pathetic job by Sony on that front.

    		 ya pretty much price...their pricing now for the higher harddrives makes better sense than the 20/60/40 gigs but dropping it a little more for the 80, upcoming 120 gig would be even better...

    and hell, maybe even get a few 3rd party exclusives...yes theirs an assload of money involved to get an exclusive but at least get one or 2....

    		 The system is pretty much up shit's creek without a paddle as far as I'm concerned. Unless Sony drops the price AGAIN, and gets some damn good exclusives to replace all the ones they lost to them being for Xbox 360 as well as PS3 (Kingdom Hearts, FFXIII, Assassin's Creed, etc.) they're done.
    And just Metal Gear Solid 4 and FFXIII Versus wont cut it for the console.

    Really, they can add all the extra shit on as they want. Blu Ray player, extremely good graphics, yadda yadda yadda. But if you don't have at least 6-7 good exclusives for it, the system will bomb.

    So you may as well stick a fork in them because they're goose is cooked.

    This is pretty much spot on. Their lack of exclusives is killing them. LittleBigPlanet, Metal Gear Solid 4 and Uncharted, while great games, aren't exactly moving units like crazy. Basically the only redeeming value (right now) of owning a PS3 is the fact it's a Blu-Ray player.

    		 Pretty much they have a strong first party and tahts whats keeping them going...3rd parties should boost it, but at the moment, their pretty much at the same place since the beginning...maybe a little better

    What strong first party? Sony hasn't had a really good first party since the original Playstation, with hits like Spyro and Crash Bandicoot.

    		 Meh, still not enough good first party games either, when you look at Microsoft and Nintendo. Nintendo blows other 1st part developers out of the water with Mario sports, Mario Kart, Mario, yeah. And Microsoft has bungee, which makes Halo.

    What Sony needs is a new platforming character, or a Halo of it's own.

    ya but when you look at it...all i think of for Microsoft is halo, you can't really recognize many other 1st party games they have, only thing you can remeber them by is their 3rd parties...and nintendo, well everyone knows nintendo's first party and for the moment they don't really have a strong 3rd...and, well i'll probably get rocks thrown at me for this, but nintendo hasn't really been delivering serious games for me, but tahts just my opinion
    mario kart and smash has been good for a while but on the brightside i'm anxiously awaiting "No More Heroes 2", "The Conduit", "Kid Icarus" and a few more...of course every console has its flaws...

    		 Sony has a new Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 2 , God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, a new Twisted Metal, White Knight Chronicles, Killzone 2 and a few other games in the works. It's ridiculous to say they have no good first party games. Hell, I think they have the best first party line up for 2009.

    The Wii's lineup is surprisingly stronger from third parties next year than it is from Nintendo itself. The new Mario and Zelda won't be here until 2010 all I can think of from Nintendo in 2009 will be Wii Sports Resort and Punch-Out!! Both great games, but it's only two games. The other games I'm looking forward to for Wii are No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, MadWorld, The Conduit and Sin and Punishment 2, all third party. Plus there's a shitload of third party RPGs that may or may not be good. Fragile I belive is from Namco, that one has potential.

    		 PS3 is too late, the 360 has take the market. Sony tryed to repeat history (Dreamcast) but failed miserably. Microsoft have unlimited money so they will survive no matter what Sony brings out.

    I can't see the PS3 ending up like the Dreamcast. But who knows. I own a PS3 mainly for imports and because I gave up on the 360 (red ring of death.) I went through 4 Xbox 360's. So either I've just had bad luck or Microsoft just does a poor job. I will give them credit though for having a larger library of games compared to the PS3. I don't know what Sony's excuse is.

    Yeah the lack of exclusives is a big one, along with price. I hear there's a price drop coming soon (as soon as March of next year). But as for the lack of exclusives, their big ones are just Metal Gear Solid and Little Big Planet, right? They really need to get to work on those 2 aspects. But honestly, I love the PS3 most out of the 3 systems.

    I'd be surprised if we see a price drop before June 2009, simply because Sony already loses enough money on the PS3 as it is. But with the economy in the state its in, they may be forced to cut the price, we'll see.

    As far as exclusives, the big ones are Uncharted 1 (with a sequel on the way), Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Resistance 1 and 2, Killzone 2, God of War III, the MLB The Show games, Gran Turismo 5 and Twisted Metal. They also have some new ips on the way like inFamous and White Knight Chronicles. Those could hit real big at retail like the first Resistance and Uncharted or they could go the way of Little Big Planet and Resistance 2 with good reviews but poor sales.

    I use my Xbox360 more than any of my other consoles right now because I like shooters and that is where the 360 really excels. But I don't regret my purchase of the PS3 at all, Sony has just made some mistakes they didn't make the last couple gens. The biggest was thinking that just because something says 'Playstation' on it that they could sell if for as much as they want, lose big exclusives and people would still buy it over the competition.

    		 I just read an article about someone suing microsoft over the 360. Supposedly the 360 scratches games and DVDs. If it's true, I'm glad I don't have one anymore.
