Thread: Ocarina of Time VS Twilight Princess

So, which Zelda game do you think was better - Ocarina of Time, or Twilight Princess? I'm sure a lot of people have thought about this one a bunch...but I wanted to see which game was favored here. I just played through Ocarina again for the first time in a few years (it is its 10th anniversary, so I felt a play through would be appropriate), and I'm going to also play through Twilight again now (have had the Wii version since launch day, and I finally got the Game Cube version a couple days ago...so I'm going to play through that one this time). For me, I still like Ocarina of Time better...mostly because it left a bigger impression on me back when it came out than Twilight Princess did. Still, they are both incredible games.

BTW, this question is just for these two Zeldas. If you like another one better like Wind Waker or A Link to the Past, that's great...but I'm just asking the question about these two cause they are the most alike and easy to compare.

Personally i like both alot, but if i had to pick one it would be Ocarina of time. I fell in love with that game when it first came out, some of the most brilliant dungeons i have ever stepped into.
I think i'm gonna have to go beat that game again now.

Hrmm, Ocarina of Time. But they're both hard to compare, being made around 8 years apart from each other. It's like comparing the Original Legend of Zelda to Twilight Princess. New Technologic advances make them tough to compare.

both games are phenomenal, and this is a really tough decision because i like both games so much, but i may have to go with twilight princess. the experience of being one of the lucky few to get a wii around launch day, and then experiencing a new zelda game with incredible controls impacted me more than ocarina did at the time.

Ocarina of Time had a way bigger impact on me. It was like Wow! Zelda is amazing. Twilight Princess had some amazing elements to it, but I have to go with OoT.

I've played and beaten them both. Although "Twilight Princess" IS a great game, I still prefer "Ocarina of Time" as #1. The first time I played it on the N64, I was HOOKED!

Motion seconded. My friend has his copies of both sitting at a yard sale. We played them, and we hadn't had less fun since Pitfall 3-D.

People who keep saying they prefer A Link to the Past or another Zelda over Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time need to re-read my original post:

"BTW, this question is just for these two Zeldas. If you like another one better like Wind Waker or A Link to the Past, that's great...but I'm just asking the question about these two cause they are the most alike and easy to compare."

Both are great games and I'd say I like them equally. OoT was a defining moment for the N64 and brought the Link to the Past formula to 3D successfully, but being able to play a new Zelda game on the launch day of a Nintendo console with a slightly different control scheme was a cool experience as well and I thought Twilight Princess did a good job building on a lot of what made OoT so great.

I would have to say ocarina of time because it took me a whole year to beat!

Twilight princess is just kinda spasmodic...
