Oh wows, I decided to finally look up the song Freebird, because I always see it mentioned as an awesome song, and I never recognized the name, and now I realize that ive heard this song before and I really like it.

Btw I thought the lyric was "In this world you cannot change", but I found out its "And this bird you cannot change". Weird.

I have their two album best of Gold and Platinum on vinyl, great stuff. My favorite Skynyrd track is What's Your Name. I just got a great special Southern Rock issue of Guitar Player with a good profile on Skynyrd, a general history on Southern Rock and articles on Government Mule and the Allman Brothers.

Mr. Show's Run Ronnie Run movie has a great Southern Rock based soundtrack.

I like the Allman Brothers and Gov't Mule too and I guess Ram Jam are alright. Dobie Gray's Drift Away is decent but I prefer the Rolling Stones' cover of it which they did during the It's Only Rock and Roll Sessions in '74 but didn't release.

Hey, what's up with the rest of you RetroJunkers? Make some noise!

Lynyrd Skynyrd is a rock legend. This is better than a time machine.
People and places I haunted as a high school bum, this music takes me right back.
Watch out, I'm a Neil Young fan too. There was a little back and forth for a while but I think it was just good natured fun. Maybe Neil Young and Ronnie Van Zant were friends, lol!

Come on RJ gang, this is the good stuff!
