LOL. You want a FEW dudes to look/act like dudes? Are you saying the whole population of men are emos? Did you see what comments this thread got by men? The minority of men are emos or sensitive, sheesh. And who cares, this world needs a little variety. The world would be so boring if everyone acted like they are "suppose" to.

And naw I didn't get the point you made about the pedophile, thats why I was confused. Those 2 things are so far away from each other I see no connection.

I don't really qualify as a "macho", "tough", "meat-n'-football" type of guy, but for the love of God, what the fuck kind of dude wears fucking girl clothes and makeup?

Like, I don't believe in conforming to stereotypes about how a "man" should act. If a dude wants to be sensitive, it's fine. But you can go way overboard the other way, also, a.k.a. -- being a complete pussy. That's not cool either.

Yea, the little weirdo's whining about not being able to wear make-up and crying sexism. I'm pretty sure the females aren't allowed to wear heavy make-up either. Granted, I don't know how over-board this guy went.

Now that I think about it...I misworded it.

What I MEANT to say was that the dudes who act more masculine than the emo guys are kinda now being the ones looked down upon and this new group is now becoming the norm. Women see like having big muscles and having a swagger about themselves is bad and cocky, and being almost as feminine as they are is better.
Perfect example: You used to not like Chance because you thought he was a cocky musclehead egotist because of his ridiculous swollness and his hi-larious self-indulging pics. I, on the other hand, find him 110% pure awesomeness and I'm currently building a statue of him
I'm just saying balance the sensitivity and the masculinity out. Don't go overboard on one side or another. I don't think it's that much to ask for.

Like I said, I overexaggerated a bunch to make a point...

You have the freedom to dress like you want or whatever. That same freedom lets me say and think whatever i want though, i think you're faggot for being like that kid. So get over it, quit whining.

Plus when your in the school they have their set of rules and a governing body that sets standards and codes. Just like when you have a job, there is certain things you cant do, that's why they make you fill out an application. It's basically a contract saying you understand what you can and cant do and what's expected from you, among other things.

Same thing with school. They all have rule books. Dumb ass kids never ask for them or even read them though.

The video did not work. All that came up was a video of Tommy Hillfinger talking about his new line.

So what did they do, take away his guy liner?

    Bingo.

I'm not allowed to wear hats in school, and considering I like wearing a hat every day it bugs me a little. Am I gonna go and get pissy because the cancer patients in my school get to wear them? No, I just accept it and move on with life. Even if it was like girls could wear hats and boys couldn't, I still wouldn't whine. It's not affecting me physically or mentally, hell all it does is prevent myself and others from a tiny distraction, one not nearly as bad as black make-up all over my face.

I'm on the side of personal choice. If he wants to wear make-up and eyeliner and so forth, whatever. He should, however, be prepared to catch a lot of flak because of it. That doesn't mean he deserves it, though, but everyone is entitled to voice their opinion. Besides, assholes have been targeting kids like this since the '80s, what did he expect?

This is one of the few times I disagree with ImAllTheRage's "voice of reason." It's not about whether he wants to wear that stupid make-up or not (although I could go on for hours about how stupid he is for wanting to), it's about the fact they're not letting him wear it in school, which makes perfect sense. It's just ridiculous, and somewhere in the rules it's stated not to wear "excess make-up," at least for us.

I don't believe in public education, anyway, so I kind of HAVE to take this position. Home schooling and/or private schools are the way to go. The public education system telling you how to dress is a little too much like the government telling you how to dress.

Hate to say this Mezase (and most of the people here) but I tend to agree with nickrules (for once.)

I mean really, girls wear too much makeup, and it's not viewed as a distraction is it? I'd personally take on the issue of people having their thongs or whatever show when they bend down, sit, or whatever. I like it as much as the next guy, but that's more of a distraction than say, some dude who wears makeup. and even still, it was just black lipstick. I mean come on. I personally didn't see him as a emo, I saw him more as a goth, but eh.

Girls don't wear that much make-up, at least not at our school. Not to say it's a lot, but if anyone wore that much they'd definitely stand out. Even then, their lipstick is red, pink, or orange, so it's not like the defining feature of the face like it is with this kid.

Your school must be fine and dandy with the population, then. Girls don't have to look like tramps and the "gangsta" craze isn't taking over.

If a guy likes to wear makeup, maybe to cover a zip, that's his problem. Dang ol' freeeeedom of speech.

It's still not allowed, though. You should complain about the school's general rules before complaining about this lone case.

if the lipstick is banned entirely, that's one thing.

if it's banned for certain people, that's another story entirely.

I think his black lipstick obviously qualifies as distracting.
