I believe that the Star Wars genre has been slowly decreasing over the years. With what you mentioned, such as the horrible 3d movie, i truthly wish they would stick with the original star wars.

My official nerd statement on the subject is that the first three movies ever made were and still are cool. Everything else is fucking clown-shoes.

It's one of the greatest movie sagas ever, and I'm saddened that so many people my age haven't even experienced the originals. It's like there's been a decline in society... if that makes sense.

    Star Wars/A New Hope: Good
    The Empire Strikes Back: Great
    Return of the Jedi: Good
    Phantom Menace: Bad
    Attack of the Clones: Terrible
Return of the Sith: Okay (horrible acting, though)
The New One: I haven't seen it yet.

I was a big fan with Star Wars for as long as I can remember, but I'll just stick with the original movies. Way better.

It was, but they decided to fuck up the series' continuity even further.

Original 3 great. Latest 3 suck.

I blame Lucas. What are the two best Star Wars movies?

    The Empire Strikes Back
    &
    Return of the Jedi

Why? Because Lucas didn't direct them. He needs to STAY AWAY from the camera and just write. Look at Indiana Jones - Amazing movies. (The first three anyway) Lucas can write good stories. He just needs to leave it at that.

The original trilogy will always hold a place in my heart (hell, even the 1997 "Special Editions"). Episodes I, II, and III were for the most part a disappointment to me. While I admire Lucas for wanting to complete his saga and tell it the way he wanted to, I think the generational/technological gap between the original series and the remakes ruined the saga. Aside from the aggravating, and seemingly more frequent "tweaks" that are being made to the films, Lucas seems content to just find a reason to make more money from the franchise than to legitimately "fix" films that were great to begin with. But with the over-saturation of CGI elements that came as a package deal for Episodes I-III, I think that the technology used was just an outlet to add more and more needless aspects to the movies, which likely didn't need to be added in the first place. Second, with the recent CG animated movie [i Clone Wars , I find even more annoyance with Lucas to keep spinning the franchise into new directions that don't need to be explored in the first place. Star Wars was never a cartoon in the first place...I just don't get it...I'm gonna stop typing now LOL

The original three movies are still entertaining to me, the rest range from okay to utter crap.

Figures. Star Wars had to join in on the remake parade

that being said, star wars: shadows of the empire for the N64 kicked ass.

The original trilogy was great, and you could really relate to Luke Skywalker. Except for the whole thing about having the force and embarking on some sort of legendary journey. But hey, a lot of people have assholes for fathers, so it's kind of relevant.
