My first concert was a bunch of "bands" at canada's wonderland. I think whigfeild was there lipsinking and that band that played the macarana...and they played it over and over and over.

But if I don't count that then I think my first real show was either the stereophonics or the tragically hip.

I know this sounds lame bu i where talking major concert then I would have to say the News boys and Steven Curtis Chapman. If where talking non major concert then I wuld have to say Harvest (a local Christian band). I was one of those Church kids growing up.

The Kingston Trio. I was three years old and in my pajamas when my mother took my siblings and I to see them. I just remember expecting the band to look the way they did on the album covers-- with the striped identical shirts and brushcuts-- seeing these older dudes with glasses on stage, and thinking, "That's not the Kingston Trio!"

As a legal adult (18 years old), my first show was the Indigo Girls. The opening act was Lift, an Atlanta band I haven't heard from since. The audience was extremely jubilant, moreso than most other shows I've been to over the years, and it rubbed off on both groups. (I've listed other bands I've seen in this thread.)

My first show was Yes in Montreal, early September 1994. It was the lineup that had done 1983's major selling 90125. It was an alright show but I prefered the next two times I saw them where it was basically their 70's lineup with a young Russian guy named Igor replacing Rick Wakeman and Billy Sheerwood on added second guitar and vocals. He had done some credited and uncredited stuff on all their 90's releases.

Matthew Good Band, hometown show in Coquitlam BC (outside of Vancouver), May 1998.

I've never really gotten into his music, though. People up here treat him like the second coming of Christ, but he's really overrated. I find him boring most of the time. He has some good songs, though.

Funny part is the only live show I've been a spectator to was to see a wedding band! Not too bad, they played a few good 80's songs, sucked they did not know any Cars though.

The first concert I actually remember was the high school guitar concert of 1999, and I was not just a spectator, but a performer as well. I remember bringing my home-modified guitar over in a brand new hardshell case, and I stupidly forgot the case key, so I wound up having to literally break into the case by breaking the locked latch.........

Then I got up there to play Eruption, and the electronics were conking out on me, so I had to smack the pickguard with my first twice to get full gain, finish the solo, then kick into "you really got me", which I went through pretty well. Not a bad first concert at all, even my tone was pretty good.
