I was living on Nantucket. My sister was born that February, and died that April. Hurricane Bob came along in August, and the No Name storm came along in October. I almost died due to a sting from a yellow jacket the day after Hurricane Bob.

I was age 9 in 1991, that was a great year, going through the last half of grade three with one of my all time favorite teachers, Ms. Rosee (not sure how to spell her last name anymore, her last name was pronounced Row-Zee) and starting grade four. My parents were really happy all year I remember because whereas earlier I was worrying them but not developing speech at the usual childhood rate at this point I was reading way beyond my grade level. I was on a whole sci-fi book trip, H.G. Wells was a real favorite of mine. I went to two fun summer camps with mostly the same people, one based on radio and one based on cooking, it sure beat the hell out of the crappy time I had a church camp the previous summer.

I remember watching a lot of Much Music, perviously I hated the channel when they were pushing the New Kids on the Block all the time. Suddenly they seemed to become the all Nirvana/ Guns and Roses/ Red Hot Chili Peppers network and I got into it. They also aired reruns of the Monkees and a concert from Yes' 1991 tour when they were doing shows with 8 people who'd been in the group over the years. As I was a big Yes fan I loved that.

1991 also has one of my favorite Christmas memories, I saw Home Alone in the theatre and I got a great GT Sled. I was out on that thing nearly every day from December 25th to the following early April. I had just started getting into the Doors too, I remember the soundtrack to the Oliver Stone Doors movie was in my Christmas stocking and it kicked off a big Doors obsession for me. That boxing day I spent nearly all my Christmas money on Yes' four disc boxed set. When I wasn't listening to that I was out on my GT sled taking it over a jump some highschool kids set up near my house.

I was only 3, my 4th birthday being later that year.
I remember 1991 for being my first encounter with Video Games
It started with me just watching my dad and brother playing Sonic The Hedgehog on the Mega Drive, and before long, I was playing it!

I was only a year old in 1991. When I was a little older, my grandmother showed me her home videos from 1991 and in the video, I was sitting on the floor watching my older brother playing Super Mario Bros. 3 and I wanted to play it so bad and I was only a year old.

    Pretty good year

    -I started 1st Grade
-My parents got back together after spending some time separated
    -I finally got into Spider-Man
-I saw the Rocketeer so many times I can't even remember them all. I know it was at least five if not more. I also caught Ninja Turtles II twice, An American Tail: Fievel goes West, Beauty and the Beast, the rerelease of 101 Dalmatians, and Ernest Scared Stupid, which scared the crap out of me.
-I went to Disneyland when they had that whole Disney Afternoon Avenue theme. I went on Big Thunder Mountain for my first, and as of today still only time.
-One of my absolute favorite cartoons ever made its debut: Darkwing Duck! I still have a taped copy of the ORIGINAL 1991 Disney Channel premiere, including promos that came on before and after the episode (That Sinking Feeling), as well as the original version of the theme song.
