Just wondering if I'm the only one who thinks the food brands aren't trying to be as creative and fun as they use to be.

Does anybody here remember any kind of old school food or food brand that they miss???

Like I miss how they use to put the toys in the cerial boxes. Why don't they do that anymore?
Did all the cerial companies just get togeather one day and be all like "Let's ruin everyone's good time for the next generation!" I also hate how they stopped having cartoon based foods like Batman cerial! I know there's still a few around but it's not enough.
I aslo remember how they use to put those little plastic loonies in the bags of Humpty Dumpty Chips, and Goosebumps stickers too!
One last one, I miss how half the commercial's on tv were all short cartoons, like the chips ahoy "oops" man. Or the Co co crispies!

    .......Anybody else???

I used to like Looney Toons meals. Those were always fun to get as a kid. That aside, it's obvious as to why they don't promote stuff the way they used to. Kids of the 90s, 80s, and before, actually played outside. We weren't dealing with childhood obesity at an all-time high. We didn't have only 6% of kids playing outside back then. Cut out the tempting adverts, then the kids won't eat the snacks. Of course, imo, the entire thing is stupid. Parents should be the ones buying the foods or making decisions on what to buy, not the kids.

I forgot all about Looney Tunes Meals! lol! Ever notice how the toys that use to come with Pizza Hut were AWESOME! Like collector's toys and movies and movie stuff. They don't have them anymore. Also, notice how the Mcdonald's and Burger King toys have gotten cheaper and cheaper, now their like giving out paper handgliders and stuff. Oh! and I just remembered something else about Mcdonalds, they use to have the best breakfest and pizza EVER!

and Yeah, I miss the old days....

I miss the earlier formula Hostess chips used to use. They changed it back in 1994 and went into overkill with the salt and flavoring. I still see bags of their chips on the shelves but I never see anyone buying any.

Humpty Dumpty Santa Fe Nachos in the light blue bag with Humpty Dumpty wearing a sombrero.

I notice Dairy Queen has been retiring the Dennis the Menace imagery on their Blizard cups. I guess they figure kids won't get it cause there's no context for them to associate it with what with the strip out of most papers and no cartoon on tv.

Don't forget they load a lot of the foods with monosodium glutamate (MSG) to make the food taste better than it acually is. I can't enjoy some of my favorite foods because MSG's give me migraines.

The reason foods arn't fun is because the new age parents badmouth the companies for marketing to kids and making them fat.

I agree, I miss the McDonalds ads too. Back then they seemed so "innocent" and kid friendly. They make me happy when I watch them today. Today McDonalds just seems like a huge monopoly with interest in taking peoples money and not worrying about their health. Or their toy products!

Actually, they never really stopped this. They still have movie tie-in cereals from time to time and cartoon ones too. Like Indiana Jones cereal.

I miss Nestle Alpine White bars and Quackers crackers.

Disney's ice creams were the best. Especially the Mickey Mouse ones with the chocolate ears. Also strawberry Twinkies, Air Crisps and Keebler (I think it was Keebler) S'mores. Those were some tasty bastards!
And does anyone remember a fruit snack that was like a fruit roll-up tube filled with a gel? God, I miss those things but have no clue about what they were.
