In "Strawberry Fields Forever", right after the music "fades out", and then "fades back in", before John Lennon says: "Cranberry Sauce" (or "I Buried Paul", or whatever you think he probably said...), you hear bits and pieces of weird distorted music (it almost sounds like flutes and pianos). Somebody told me these strange notes are just portions of the main part of the song (the part we heard before the "fade out"), played backwards. I would be eternally grateful if anybody out there can play this part backwards for me, and let me know if the music sounds more "natural", and less strange in reverse. There is always a possibility that when played backwards it sounds equally weird. Also, I often wondered what Lennon's statement sounded like when played backwards, as well. I was also told that if you play the "Mr. Ed" Theme Song backwards, you can hear satanic messages (including a voice saying: "Son of Satan!")
I would do all of the above myself, but I lack the technology to do so.
"Strawberry Fields Forever" (The part I am talking about happens at 3:39)
I believe on revolution engine #9, and help had messages too. I do'nt think it means anything, they just did that occasionally for the fun of it. A lot of other artists during the 60's and into the 80's did backward messages in their music.
Kate Bush got really into backwards vocals on her song Watching You Without Me, there's a part where she's talking and it strobes back and forth between forward and backwards at one second intervals, and there's also a part where she impersonates what her vocals sound like backwards.
The Beatles Rain ends with the vocal part running backwards. John played the demo tape to the song the wrong way around on his tape player one time while high and liked how it sounded so it was incorperated into the final product.
The Mr. Ed "Son of Satan" thing was probably unintentional. I'm not so sure about the sounds at the end of Strawberry Fields, I just slowed down and reversed the audio in Audacity and I couldn't find anything strange, it just sounds like Paul playing random notes on the Mellotron.
In L7's Boys In Black, the chorus when reversed becomes "All beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. two all beef patties *laughter*"

There's backwards talking from Beavis in the Beavis and Butt-head Do America movie. When you play it forwards it says "I recommend that you stay in school."
"Sleep with me, I'm not too young" That's the message.
Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit- if you play the ending, when he's saying "A Denial" backwards, you can hear him say "I hate you."
Another One Bites the Dust by Queen- He says "It's fun to smoke Marijuana"
Fire by Night by ELO- They say "The Music is reversable but time is not. Turn Back, turn back, turn back...
Also, in a couple Pink Floyd songs. In one he says something along the lines of. "You have found the secret message. Send your responses to Old Pink at the farm." In another, he says "I buried the Parakeet in the backyard. Why are you playing the record backwards? You're going to break your needle."
ELO's and Pink Floyd's were done on purpose, but it's still a hidden message.
"Did I ever tell you how much I like ants huh? Especially fried in a subtle blend of mech fluid and grated gears?" -Rampage, Beast Wars
