What do ya say, guys? Did this show stink or what?

I was home sick earlier this week and this show was on while I was in bed. Well, I couldn't locate the remote and was too weak to get up and change the channel. Needless to say I sat through an entire hellish episode of that god-awful show. I just wanted everyone on that show to shut the hell up so that I could gather my thoughts together. It was truly hellish. I choked my pillow right after it finished, forced myself to get up to turn off the tube, and went back to resting.

It's not such a bad show, but some things are there might be unrealistic, I mean, what show isn't? I remember one episode, where one of the kids were getting married (I think It was Matt) and apparently they invited one of the girlfriends/soon-to-be wife's former boyfriends to the wedding. HUH?

It was unrealistic, thats for sure. At first it didn't seem so bad but as the kids grow older it got more annoying with every episode. They just finished 11th season here so I remeber it freshly.
Yeah, I watched it. Not all seasons - I think I saw about 6 of them (first 3 and last 3). I hated the NON STOP no-sex-before-marriage talk. But still it's quite good family show. I would like my kids to watch it when they are teenagers

I saw most of the seasons, but once all the kids started getting out of the house, it got really annoying. They kept replacing them with characters that were really annoying.

The first few seasons weren't bad at all. It was when they brought in the twins that it first started to be not as awesome, but it was still pretty good. Then when they introduced all these new characters like Chandler and Roxanne and the episodes started being more about them than the Camdens, it got annoying. And when Matt, Mary, and Simon left the show was a little dull. I thought the 9th and 10th seasons were pretty good because Simon was back and Matt was in a few episodes and Mary was mentioned more.
The 11th season was just downright painful to watch. It was boring with only Ruthie and the twins-- who could not act at all-- and then they had to bring in these three new kids who like replacement children to Annie and Eric... those kids killed it for me. They were so annoying and it wasn't just them; I got so annoyed to see Lucy and Kevin's stupid little arguments.
But other than those few things, it's a good show. Better than reality crap anyway.

I have seen a few episodes and the plots don't apply to any familes I have ever known.

I have always disliked this show. It is both dull and unrealistic, which is never a good combination.

The episode I watched involved the oldest son and his life "crisis". He was at the point in his life where he just had to be married. He was going to totally spazz out if he didn't get married or at least begin the arrangements by the end of the show! His parents were so delusional that they couldn't really offer any solid advice other than saying, "Well, we'd at least like to meet this young lady". Barf! Every now and then one of the kids would chime in with there brand of sarcastic wit. Ah bologna!

Honestly, I didn't think it was all that bad, I actually enjoyed the show for what it was worth. I think it gave some good lessons. I kinda quit watching it after it's 6th or so season, but I enjoyed 7th Heaven there for a good while. I like the cast and I think they did fairly well. I don't feel it really needed 10 seasons though, it ran it's course before that.

I really enjoyed the show and was an avid watcher until maybe the the 8th or 9th season I believe, I continued watching it more when it was in its last season on the CW in 2006

It was entertaining for me and did have good life lessons, maybe just some that weren't so direct for some

It's okay, but I still don't like it much. My sister, however, hates this show with a passion!

I watched this show on the first few seasons though. After they kept adding more characters and Mary, Matt and Simon left, I stopped watching it all together.

In the beginning, the show was fine, in my opinion. It was really good, but as the kids got older, the more annoying it got. IMO, the show should've ended in about 2000, maybe 2001 at the latest. Seems the earlier seasons were more realistic compared to the later ones.

I know Jessica Biel didn't want to do the show anymore, but they could've handled her character way better that what they did. Mary met a guy, got married, and had a child, and yet, no Mary. We see the husband and said child, but never Mary. They could've gotten someone to replace her or something..

The only reason my grandmother, my mother, and I continued to watch it (my mother felt the same way as I did) was because my grandmother liked watching it with the both of us. NBC used to air the show here (we don't get the WB) so she'd tape it, and then we'd watch it on Sunday nights. I always groaned when she called me up to watch, but I put it aside (just as my mother did) to watch it with her.

Oh, for the record, I liked the twins. I thought they were so adorable. In a way, I'm glad the show ended before they could grow up and have their characters ruined like say...Ruthie.

I loved her in the earlier seasons. I liked how she and Simon were like inseparable, along with the dog tagging along behind them. Ruthie seemed to have the most sense out of all of the kids, but that got lost when she became a teenager where she became incredibly selfish (I know, typical teen), but I had hopes of her not falling into the stereotype. I think they should've had her character become a lesbian. It would've made the show more interesting.

The only thing that I did like of the later seasons was the fact that they did get a little realistic regarding Simon's promiscuous character. At least they didn't all act like goody two-shoes. The fact that Simon was having an STD scare was interesting and I'm sure he quit with the unprotected sex afterwards. Was he just an addict or something, or did he just like having sex a lot? Thinking about it, I think he had a pregnancy scare too with his gf..

The main aspects that annoyed me for the entirety of the show, is the fact that for some reason, it's necessary for you to have a boyfriend for some oddball reason, and the other aspect that I found incredibly bothersome, was the fact that the family was too damn nosy!! Maybe the latter wasn't that bad in the beginning, but it was grating in the later episodes. I think there was one episode where they were literally celebrating Ruthie getting her first period.
