What's your favorite and least favorite parody movie?

    Here's mine.

    Favorite: Blazing Saddles and Airplane
Least Favorite: any movie made by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (Spy Hard, Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, and any movie that they plan to make in the future)

Spy Hard ws fun, I thought. Not the best Leslie Nielsen effort, but certainly not terrible. Plus there were Nicolette Sheridan's legs to look at for 1.5 hours.

I like the Naked Gun movies and Spaceballs (really pretty much any Mel Brooks movies). Monty Python could be parody, I suppose, especially the Holy Grail movie.

I thought The Comebacks was fairly stupid. And sitting through the first half hour of Epic Movie was like a night in hell.

Okay, I'll admit, Spy Hard was the most tolerable Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer movie, but I still didn't like it that much.

Well it wasn't Friedberg and Seltzer that made it any good. Leslie Nielsen and Andy Griffith carried that movie, along with the assistance of Nicolette Sheridan's dress.

In my mind, Pat Proft is one of the few writers that can actually write a spoof/parody movie well.

Airplane would be my favorite, Epic Movie my least favorite. As a series I like the Scary Movie films better than Naked Gun. Only the first Naked Gun was good.

That's funny, because I only like the first Scary Movie.

If you say that you liked Scary Movie better than Naked Gun, then you OBVIOUSLY have no taste, and we've nothing more to discuss.

I can't believe nobody mentions Spinal Tap either....

Never really been a fan of movie parodies, I'm more into the subtle homages. Aside from the Austin Powers movies, I can't really recall any spoof I really liked.

I like Fear of a black hat.

The first three scary movies were good. The fourth was pure shit.

I love The Rutles! But yes, you kind of have to be a Bealtes fan. Loving Monty Python helps too.

I think I'd have a rather short list of either since I try to avoid most parody movies. This Is Spinal Tap would be somewhere near the top of my favorites though I guess it's more of a mockumentary than a parody. The Scary Movie/Date Movie/Epic Movie franchise would definitely be on my most hated list.

Spinal Tap is absolutely hilarious. Who is it that thinks the could be a haberdasher or shoe salesman? Nigel Tufnel

I think there are few good parodies. I don't like that kind of american humour. Scary movie 1 is the best from Scary Movies. Epic Movie was a waste of time. Naked Gun - I can't stand Leslie Nielsen etc

Mel Brooks's History of the World Part 1 is a great film.

Any scary, date, epic, superhero, or movie of that style is not funny to me.

I liked "Scary Movie 3" more than the first two because of it having no nudity.
