Just dusted off the ol copy of The Road Warrior, aka Mad Max 2. I love this movie to no end. The absurd violence and gore, the car chases, the post apocalyptic future, the over the top score, Mel Gibson before he was a freak....good times.

I prefer the first one myself. I do like The Road Warrior though, but I can't stand the third. Especially how there is no explanation of how the gyro captain guy ended up the way he did, or if it's even the same character, although it's implied since Max knows the guy has a plane or helicopter of some type.

I read a book about the Mad Max series which commented on the fact that there weren't any roads in Mad Max 3. It's like the whole point of who Mad Max is was gone!

Mad Max 3 is just a steaming pile of turd on every level. Its almost like they were trying to make a comedy instead of instead a Mad Max film.

Like I said, there was a different director for part 3. That's probably why it was like one long music video with a mohawk.

I like the road warrior better than mad max. Mad max you only get to see the kickass character at the end of the film when he's all broken from losing his friends and family. In the road warrior you get to see that broken character through the whole movie. And thunderdome....well.....he seems to have more ambition for the future by this installment.

I mean really to me it seems the road warrior is just this cheezy setting laid out for one of the greatest characters I've ever seen. He's just completely broken and he doesn't care who lives or dies. His life has been so full of sorrow he's just given up on all emotion. Really the movie is about the character of max. But "the road warrior" not only makes a cool title, but it describes the persona his character takes. Really if you think about it the movie has absolutely no point. But the character of max is so interesting and deep that I love it to bits.

its the same actor, diffrent charecter. how do i know? Because they say at the end of Road Warrior that the gyro captain becawme the cheif of the people, this guy was no cheif, he only had a son and a a diffrent air craft. Max knew him becuse he robs max at the beginign of the film and Max does get a good look at him

I think its more a case of it being a giant glaring plot hole.

I grew up loving the Road Warrior. It wasn't until recently that I started to appreciate Mad Max. I didn't like it when I was younger.

No, I'm sure it was the Feral Kid who became the chief. The Feral Kid was the narrator.

yeah, the feral kid was the narrartot and he outright says that the gyrocaptian becoems the cheif. George Miller has also stated in numorus interviews that its the same actor but a diffrent yet simular charecter.

Well, I think it's safe to say that part 3 was an overall waste of time. Except for Thunderdome, that was metal & brutal.

I'll agree that Thunderdome was the only redeeming quality. Two men enter, one man leave.

They should just do a movie called Mad Max: Thunderdome and digitally alter the entire story around fighting in Thunderdome. Then of course the chase scene at the end.

The only good thing to come out of Thunderdome was the line Jim Carrey had in "Liar, Liar" when giving his speech to the lady getting the divorce. When he says something about Tina Turner, and instead of saying hit me again Ike, she's beyond Thunderdome.
