(Not sure if this has been a topic before)

Did anyone get scared about the Y2K Bug? I remember people making such a huge deal about it, and stocking up on cans and things. I remember I wasn't really scared about it, I thought the most that would happen is the lights go out, but they never did.

Also, do you believe that 2012 is the year of DOOMSDAY?! I don't, LOL.

I was 10 at the time of all this Y2K stuff and yes, I was scared.

And as far as the world ending in 2012, not happening.

I was 11. Im not sure why I wasn't scared...I remember as I was watching the ball drop being a little worried, like "what if", but I only thought that maybe the lights would twitch or something.

When the Y2K thing was going down, I was almost 17. And I didn't buy into it for one second. To me, it didn't even make sense.

As for 2012 being the end of the world, well, I don't buy that either. Like it says in the Bible, only God knows when the world will end.

I didn't worry about Y2K, and I'm not worried about 2012. Why? because we knew about Y2K and we know about 2012, so therefore, we're ready and on top of it. It's the things we don't know about that should worry us.

I wasn't worried about Y2K at all. The 2012 thing is kind of creepy with the whole mayan calender thing not going past that year. BUT the weekly world news it seems has predicted every other year for the past 20 years or more as the end of the world LOL sooo...who knows I'm sure Batboy will save us, as well as bigfoot and Nessie's baby.

I just hope that if the "end" happens when I or my son or any other children I may have are still alive, it happens so fast no one has time to think and there is no panic or pain.

What exactly does the Mayan calendar claim will kill the world? A Horde of locusts, a giant mechanical pres-o-dent that spits fire? Godzilla and the Wildebeast. The ghosts of 100 dead rock stars?

I've heard all kinds of stuff about the world ending soon for years. When Y2K happened, me and my pals plotted that if something DID happen on a massive scale, we'd take advantage of it in a not-so-hooligan-like-way, in order to survive it despite.

I'm not too terribly scared of things ending, it seems every time my devils advocate side wants to see at least something happen to make getting riled up over it worthwhile, but usually I see everyone just end up with closets full of bottled water, ramen noodles, and a coleman stove.

Yeah, what DO they think is going to happen? A big astroid? are we going to implode? LOL and is it the earth will die or something enviornmental that will just kill all living things?

They just stopped recording pointless calendar dates that wouldn't apply to them. I mean, I was making plans up to the year 7,896AD but one day it just dawned on me that it was kind of a waste of time. I hope no one from 7,890 finds my diary...
