I still have a Laser Disc player at my house in my closet. The last time I connected it to my TV was in 2004. Here's a list of Laser Discs I still own:

    -Fantasia

    -Robin Hood

    -Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves

    -Wizard of Oz

    -Blues Brothers

I know I have some more, but it's been a while since I've taken them out of the closet.

Thats something I never had as a kid. I had almost everything else but that. I think the only time I ever watched a movie on laser disc is when I was babysitting and they had one at their home. I can't really remember the quality now since that was years ago.

Laser Disc I didn't own, but we did get to see some material on LD at my science teacher's class. Something electrons and lightning strikes.

I remember though, that when you slowed LD for Who Framed Rodger Rabbit you could see some of the characters nude. Jessica Rabbit especially. But its nothing compared to what you'll see on Pepe La Pew cartoons. At least that's what one of those news shows said many years ago.

we didnt have one, but my best friends did and since i slept over at their house almost every other friday, i watched it a lot. It was okay, we usually watched the same 4 discs over and over. They were Poltergeist, Thriller, Bambi, and The Incredible Shrinking Woman. Bambi did this thing where it would stop in the middle and do a 360, it was weird, i don't know if it was a "special effect" or if it was just screwed up.

Amazing how a reference from a couple of characters can make the Laser Discs out of obscurity.

Laserdiscs suck. A betamax player makes you better than normal people.

    I always considered Videodiscs the original DVD;

I've never gotten to see anything on videodisc or laserdisc. I'd be interested to seeing either one operating.

I have a whole collection that I started two years ago when I realized there are videos that haven't came out on DVD but on Laserdisc instead. In my collection I specialize in Disney and music related movies, but I aso collect popular classics such as Braveheart among others

In high school a LaserDisc player with videos of people driving in first-person was the core of our Drivers Ed. simulator.

From a technical perspective LaserDisc was a notable video improvement over VHS. I want to say VHS was like 250 lines of resolution at best. Audio-wise it allowed for Dolby surround sound (AC-3). But still not a quantum leap improvement like DVD was, IMO.

My good friend's dad had one that was never hooked up (in my presence at least) and a decent stack of movies. We didn't know what it was for years.

And it's still sitting there. Collecting dust. I want to buy it, but I got this feeling that if I ask...it may push some barrier of our friendship that I'm not comfortable testing.

I found a huge stack of laserdiscs for a dollar each at a Goodwill a few years ago. Thinking back, I wish I had snatched 'em up.
