Thread: What is your favorite Halloween night ritual

    		 Actually I don't have a Halloween night ritual, I have a ritual for the whole month of October leading up to Halloween, since I go trick-or-treating with my best friend and her two kids.

    Up until Halloween I make sure to watch nothing but horror movies, but never in the daytime...always around midnight and in the pitch black.

    So far I'm up to around 10 movies and 1 outta that ten have given me a good fright.

    		 Setting up the decorations is one of my fav things. We always had a spooky soundtrack playing and blinking lights and stuff. It was fun to hand out candy and see the kids' costumes and give them a scare. But Halloween night, I love watching the Halloween stuff on TV and eating candy. Sucks to do it by yourself though.

    		 We don't really have decorations or anything, but every year each of us pick out a scary movie or two. We pull the curtains and keep the lights off (to discourage trick or treaters) and watch the movies. And we always have plain brown doughnuts and chocolate milk with the movies.

    		 Taking my kids trick or treating, watching them sort out candy then the best... Watching Garfield's Halloween, It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and "Ichabod and Mr. Toad"

    		 Mine is going to be the same tradition like last year which is.........Banging my head against the wall because of all the crappy cheap low budget horror movies they will stick on which will ruin my halloween night.

    		 I take my son trick or treating at mall. It is fun to see cute little babies in cute costumes.

    		 Back when I used to be a Thomas Haden Church (Yeah, I used to like Ned and Stacey) fan I used to watch Tales From The Crypt: Demon Knight every year. I'm not sure what I'll do this year. I'm starting to fall out of the Halloween spirit. Last year I watched some KISS special on VH1 Classic.

    		 I've never gone trick-or-treating. Usually I stayed home with my family or friends and we'd watch a scary movie or the Simpsons Halloween Special (back when it used to be funny).

    		 What I like is handing out the candy bags to the kids on my street. I live in a small community where we all know each other and I make up a bag for each child in the neighborhood that usually has some candy and a few goodies like pencils or trinkets in there as well. Last year I gave out those little Play-Doh cans, for example.

    They all come around 6:10 or so every year and it's fun to ask them what they are and to ask them why they chose what they did. When they look in their bags, I always like to see the happiness it brings them. They were really excited about the Play-Doh last year, I've got to think of something equally good this year.

    I always take time to talk with each child individually (there are about a dozen) and wish them a happy and safe night--they usually go trick or treating traditional style in other neighborhoods afterwards.

    Once all the kids are gone, it's back to my normal routine, as if it's just another day. I may watch a Twilight Zone episode on DVD or something but that's about it. I do decorate my room but I haven't dressed up in many years and haven't trick or treated since I was very young--I was the first of my friends to "retire". Haven't been to a Halloween party since tenth grade.
