To date, I've only seen two R-rated movies in theatres. The first was Mel Gibson's "Passion of the Christ," which I saw with my church. The second one was "Semi-pro," which I saw when it came out about a month ago. Since then, I've seen a few on TV, such as Terminator 2.
Okay. My childhood was kinda trashy. It was shows like South Park and Beavis and Butthead. The first movie I when with the Rating R by the MPAA was Gladiator, which I saw when I was 8. I thought that was one of the biggest f*ck-ups in my first 10 years of life. The first of those I enjoyed was the Shining.
Ha, my first R-rated movie was from WAY back in the day.....Revenge of the Nerds. All young boys from that era found some way to sneak a peak at it. Especially those of us without cable or satellite back then, lol.
I think it was Child's Play 2. In the theatre that is, I probably saw many more on cable before then. I remember my friends dad bought the tickets for all of us kids, there were like 8 of us, I can't remember how old we were 10-11 or so. He was going to just hang out in the mall until the movie was over, he didn't want to watch it. Anyway we got to the theatre, and were seated then an usher came through before the previews started and asked where our guardian was, somebody said he wasn't there. So they kicked us out. We found the dad, and he had to buy himself a ticket and sit through Child's Play 2 with us.
The first move to ever scare me was Pet Cemetary. Even though it wasn't the first horror movie I saw, it was the first to scare me. My older brother had some friends over, and they rented it on VHS, and it scared me to hell. Especially the part where the sick sister dies. It was so gross. That is the only time I can think of when I actually slept with the lights on.
Well I watched a lot of those Freddy, Jason,Child's Play, and Steven King movies long before I was old enough to go to an R rated movie on my own. The first R rated movie I saw in the cinema was Air Force One.

That part scared the HELL out of me and my sister when we were little! Still creeps me out. I'm pretty sure that was the first movie to traumatize me. I used to have nightmares and had one panic attack when i thought about the ghost (Pascow) that kept warning Dr. Creed about the burial ground. I love this movie though, everytime it's on i have to watch it!

I forget... it may have been a James Bond movie I watched with my friends at my friend's house when I was 11... we could watch the scene where they did it without our eyes being covered.
That's pretty hard for me to remember, but I think the first R-rated movie I've seen was with my grandparents in a drive-in movie theater around 1986. (Remember it like it was yesterday!)
My grandad had an old 77' Ford F150 that we went in. We backed the truck up and would sit in the back, all three of us watched some movie (don't recall what) which had a pretty good amount of profanity and semi-nude scenes.
Although they took me to see it, my grandmother would shout 'Cover your eyes!' when a bad scene would come on, or 'Cover your ears!' when they'd curse. I still heard _everything_ and saw _everything_, and my grandmother knew. She did it more for fun.
This was back in 1986 I think, at one of the last drive-ins at Los Angeles.
Sorry I couldn't recall the movie, but really wanted to share the experience with you all.
The earliest R rated movies I can remember watching were Shocking Asia 1 and 1 when I was 8 years old. They are still 2 of my favourite films/documentaries.
