I wasn't allowed to watch The Simpsons or Beavis and Butthead because my Mom dubbed it "Too Violent" for me to watch. I understand Beavis and Butthead, but The Simpsons? Come on, it was no worse than any other sitcom/show I was allowed to watch.

Also, any movie rated R or NC-17 was off limits for obvious reasons.

I wasn't allowed to watch either of those shows either but given the years both of those shows started I was 5 when The Simpsons started and 8 when Beavis and Butthead started. But looking back, as much as I love both of those shows now at the time most of the "really good" jokes and references probably would've been over my head.

For the first month it was in theaters, my parents wouldn't let me see Jurassic Park. But I finally convinced them I wouldn't be afraid, so when the T.Rex roared for the first time and the speakers almost blew up I had to pretend I didn't piss myself.

Three's company and Bosom Buddies, but I did anyway. I was always planted in front of the TV growing up. Now, I don't own one.

My dad made fun of my sister and me for liking Ren and Stimpy and called it Rotten and Stupid but he let us watch it. He hated South Park when it started but eventually became a fan when they started doing more of the parody and satire kind of stuff.

That's basically what happened with my mom. She would make fun of the "Happy Happy Joy Joy" song. and she hated south park but now she loves it.

I wasn't allowed to watch the movie Dennis when I was a kid because my neighbor was called Mr Wilson and one day I went up to his house and shouted "Hey Mr Wilson!" like Dennis does in the movie. The Mr Wilson who lived next door to me had back problems so he was pretty pissed off when he came outside to find that it was just me saying something I'd heard on a movie. My mum explained to him and he was OK with it.
I can't think of anything worth putting as a signature.

In the 70s my parents wouldn't let us watch Rowan & Martin's Laugh In. My sister and I had small tv in our room and we used to sneak it on.

Seems like alot of people pretty much went the same thing I did with Beavis and Butthead. I recall my mom really cracking down when they made the news, about a kid burning his house down and his mom blamed the show, I soooo remember that. So my bro and I would sneak around turn the volume down to watch it. I'm glad they brought it back.

There really wasn't a lot my parents wouldn't let us watch but there were somethings they didn't want us watching. Ren and Stimpy was the big one. They hated that one, and sometimes even made me change the channel, but it was never permanently banned from my house. It also wasn't one of my favorites as a kid, so I usually didn't watch it much anyway. My mom despised the Simpsons but my dad liked it and had no problem with me and my brother watching it. Yet he didn't like us watching Kenan & Kel. Not because he found anything objectionable, just because he thought it was stupid. But he didn't stop us.
The only shows I can think of that were outright banned were South Park & Family Guy when they first came out. Also Goosebumps was briefly banned in our house because it scared me and my brother watched it all the time. He soon got a tv in his room so he could watch whatever without me around. Also Pokemon was hated by my parents because it was annoying but I could watch it as long as they weren't in the same room.

You have no idea how grateful I am that my parents never told me "Don't watch this" or "Don't listen to this". However,I was told numerous times to TURN THAT DAMN MUSIC DOWN!

Sorry about that,Dad. Blame it on Ozzy and Axel...

Roseanne (after the first few seasons), NYPD Blue, Fresh Prince of Bel Air(not sure why...), etc... Any movie that was R (except for the Deer Hunter once.) or PG-13 (with a few exceptions.)

Odd, I seem to recall watching it when I was as young as three or four.

As for restrictions, my parent (or at that time parent) was a bit lenient. And even after she married, I didn't have many restrictions.

My parents were basically okay with anything below porn... although I think I remember them stopping one or two episodes of South Park for being too inappropriate. Pretty sure the red rocket episode was too much for them.
