I was allowed to watch pretty much anything. The only time my dad ever didn't want me to see something was the Dracula movie with Keanu Reeves when it was in theatres because it was so erotic and what not. LOL I got a kick out of that because my friend and I had been watching cheesy 80s horror flicks with nudity in it for quite awhile at that point and obviously the nudity was not why I wanted to see it.

I was absolutely forbidden from watching Married With Children as a kid, along with my younger sister.

The only thing I couldn't watch was anything to do with sex. But scary, violent or gorey, I was allowed. I saw Aliens, Die Hard, The Fly and many other simular things when they came out. I wasn't even ten yet. But if my mom wanted to see it, we went. I don't remember ever being really scared. I thought it was more cool then anything. Plus Die Hard made me realise I was an evil loving psycho at heart.

My parents didn't let me watch MTV, well only for Beavis & Butthead . I wish they would have cause I would have seen the classic MTV, unlike how it is now.
Yet, they would let me watch The Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, Beavis & Butthead, Ren & Stimpy, Threes Company, & those wacked out Sid & Marty Kroft cartoons from the 70s.
My dad didn't want me to watch Grease for some reason.
They didn't let me watch some other movies either, I just can't remember.

I wasn't allowed to watch Tales from the Crypt or Beavis and Butt-Head, but I'd often stay up at night to catch it, and even if I wound up getting TV banned for a week or so, I felt it was worth it. I do remember asking for and being granted permission to catch the TFTC series finale.

Plus, shortly after I was allowed to watch R rated films I said the F word and was banned from them for a while by my mom (completely ignoring the fact that she damn near said it all the time)

My parents forbade me from watching South Park after the neighbor kids started cursing. Seems at the time they couldn't figure out that it was bad parenting and all the adult movies the kids found that gave them such a colorful vocabulary and in depth insight into such mature subjects.

I'm surprised I missed this agent thread.

Anyway, I wasn't allowed to watch movies that weren't age appropriate (I mostly watched G and PG stuff, until I was older, then PG-13 stuff).

As for television, only show I can think of that I wasn't allowed to watch at first was The Simpsons. Mom felt that it had too many adult themes and felt that Bart wasn't a good influence, or whatever. She did let me start watching it later on though.

Oh yeah, Married with Children I wasn't allowed to watch for a couple of reasons. When the show originally started, I was in elementary school. Second, my bedtime was 8:30. Due to that right there, I wasn't really forbidden to watch most shows...I just never saw them because they came on past my bedtime.

Oh, my mom hated when I watched Beavis & Butthead, but I was in my early teens then, so she didn't tell me not to...she just preferred that I didn't. As for South Park, my father saw that and didn't think it was right for me to watch it, but didn't really stop me (I was in high school by then).

So getting down to it, I wasn't really forbidden to see too many things. For the stuff deemed "inappropriate", I didn't show much of an interest in. I was into mostly family-friendly stuff anyway.
