Same here. I watched Tales from the Crypt and Childs Play movies as far back as I can remember. That's why I think kids today are babyfied.

Short of pornos and soft core flicks, I was allowed to watch pretty much anything as a kid, surprisingly.
    You will lose.

For some reasons, I couldn't watch the animated version of Beetlejuice because my folks deemed it "too scary for children"...but I owned a copy of "The Shining" at age 10. Go figure

I had a rather overprotective mom, so anything R rated was off limits. Up until when I was 14, I only saw Childs Play (which scared the hell out of me as a kid) and maybe one or two other ones, I don't remember them, just a lot of killing, kissing, and finding dead bodies which also scared me. On a somewhat related subject, I also remember how in 5th grade, our teacher showed us some detective show where they keep finding corpse's and skeletons in houses and other odd places. I told my mom about it and how it, too, scared me and shed bitch all over the teacher. I was like geez, you don't have to be hard on the guy.

My family once banned me from watching The Simpsons for 1 week (because I was bearing my butt at other people at school) . After 1 week, the ban was lifted.

My parents were very relaxed about what I could watch for the most part. I censored things for myself more than they censored things for me. By age nine I had let go of my hangups.

The only time I can really think of is one time I was at a rental place with my dad and I wanted to rent Carnal Knoweldge, a 70's movie with Jack Nicholson, Ann-Margret, Art Garfunkle and Candice Bergen and my dad said no.

Lo and behold, a year later the Canadian version of the Bravo channel debuted and Carnal Knowledge was one of the first late night moveis they showed. So I discreetly went downstairs in the middle of the night and taped it, and watched it shortly afterwards. As years went by, enforced viewing restrictions went away completley and my family would all watch the early seasons of the Sopranos together.

I wasn't allowed to watch Ren and Stimpy, that was the only show I got to watch for awhile before not being allowed to. I wasn't allowed to watch The Critic or Family Guy, but I only saw one episode of those when I wasn't allowed to see them.

I couldn't watch All That because it was "stupid"...

My dad made fun of my sister and me for liking Ren and Stimpy and called it Rotten and Stupid but he let us watch it. He hated South Park when it started but eventually became a fan when they started doing more of the parody and satire kind of stuff.

My parents didn't ban us from watching anything. Everything to anything was fair game.
It's OK, next time I'll make you listen. I wish that it were in the power of all children to say that to their parents and to know that indeed they would be heard as we were in those wonderful days on Waltons Mountain.Narrator The Waltons (From the Runawa

My parents never really had any problems with me because I've never been interested in horror or violence or whatever. I wasn't actually banned from anything, as long as I didn't pick the movie. If they were watching a movie and I came up, I could stay. If my older cousins picked an R-rated movie, I could watch it. But if I found something "bad" at the video store, we couldn't get it.

Probably most of the PG-13 and Rated R movies. I know I got kicked out of the room by my dad during the movie "The Piano" for some reason. My mom wouldn't let me watch Dirty Dancing or Ghost until I was a preteen, I think.

I was, oddly enough, allowed to watch Poltergeist, Gremlins, and Ghostbusters at a really young age though. I even saw one of the Nightmare On Elm Street sequels when I was flipping channels on the tv (although I kind of regretted that later that day because I was afraid to go to sleep lol).

"The P iano" has a sex scene in it, where both people are naked!

Plus, when I was 4, I loved the movie "Dennis The Mennace", the live action version. My mum banned it for 3 months, as I would ride out to the neighbour's house, and shout "Mr Wilsonnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!", just like Dennis in the movie! It was even worse, coz' the neighbour was called Mr Wilson! Stangley, I saw it on VHS in ASDA a few weeks later, and my mum bought it for me!

I am 11, and I can watch most stuff:

    Child's Play 1-3

    Beavis And Butthead

    MTV.

    Family Guy.

Yeah. So I can watch most stuff really!

My parents let me watch The Simpsons when it came on, but I wasn't even allowed to talk about South Park or Beavis and Butt-head. The stupid part was, I always got the titles "Leave it to Beaver" and "Beavis and Butt-head" mixed up, so I would sometimes ask my parents if I could watch "Beavis and Butt-head," and they would be like, "Don't talk about that show!" But, hey, I'm grown up now, and I can watch whatever I want.

There were a few shows my parents didn't really like me watching (like Ren and Stimpy) but there was never anything they didn't let me watch.

There was only ever one movie my dad didn't let me rent and that was Carnal Knowledge (1971, Jack Nicholson, Candice Bergen, Ann-Margret, Art Garfunkle) but then as if by some miracle a couple of weeks later that movie was on tv and I taped it. Funny how things can work out

I was never really banned from The Simpsons because I watched the first two seasons when I was little. I just sort of didn't watch the rest until the 1996/1997 season.
I wasn't supposed to watch Beavis and Butthead, but I did anyway.

    You mean "The Shining", right?

Quiet! You want to get sued?

(I had to do that! That's a Simpsons reference for those scratching their heads)

I know of people who weren't allowed to watch "The Simpsons".
What are you people!? On dope!?
