Thread: Funny Face fruit drinks

I may be showing my age here, but does anybody out there remember the Funny Face fruit drinks from back in the early 70's? The only characters I remember from that product line were Cheery Cherry, Grinning Grape, and Jolly Olly Orange. In my house, we had two Jolly Olly Orange mugs. You would get the mugs when you sent 2 proofs of purchase.

Anybody in "t(oo)n" with me out there?

We used to drink them all the time when we were kids. I even had a few of the Funny Face mugs.

Just want to add a couple of things here.
First, I now seem to remember the grape Funny Face's name was Giggles, not Grinning.
Second, just to jog some more memory cells out there, the jingle/slogan was "Funny Face is fun to drink!"

    Thanks for the reply, Machinist!
So how about it, out there in Forumland? If you were a 70's kid, I'm sure you remember Funny Face somehow in some way, so step up and 'fess up!

    To Rainbow Bright:
sorry, but the mugs I once had as a kid are now long lost in the mists of time. I can only vaguely recall that one of them was thrown out after the handle broke, and the other was probably either stolen by a visiting cousin or left behind in the basement of the last apartment my family lived in before we moved to the 'burbs, but I'm not all that sure. You could try searching Ebay.

    Thanks for the reply

Thanks a bunch, Machinist! I remember that particular commercial ran on TV later on in the mid-70's. But the commercials that ran earlier on looked different. They had just the animated characters. Vet voice over actors Paul Winchell and Lennie Weinrib provided their voices. If you can find those for me, I'd be one happy camper!

I saw these on X-Entertainment a long time ago, in a feature about racist food, but I don't think that particular article is up anymore.
