Big Bird:"Where's Mr. Hooper so I can give him his picture?"
Maria:"Big Bird, don't you remember? We told you, Mr. Hooper died. He's dead. Remember?"
Big Bird:"Oh yeah. I remember. Well, I'll give it to him when he comes back."
Susan:"Big Bird, Mr. Hooper's not coming back."
Big Bird:"Why not?"
Susan:"Big Bird, when people die, they don't come back."
Big Bird:"Never?"
Susan:"No. Never."
Big Bird:"Why not?"
Luis:"Well Big Bird, they can't come back. They're dead."
Big Bird:"But, he's gotta come back. Who's gonna take care of the store?! And who's gonna make my birdseed milkshakes and tell me stories?!"
David:"Big Bird, I am going to take care of the store. Mr. Hooper left it to me. I will make you your birdseed milkshakes, We will tell you some stories and see that you okay."
Big Bird:"But it won't be the same."
Bob:"Yes, it won't be the same around here without him but, we can all be glad we got to know him, and be with him, and love him when he was here."
Susan:"And we still have our memories of him."
Big Bird:"But everything was just fine! Why did it have to be like this?!"
Gordon:"Big Bird, it has to be like this, because."
