For those who don't know, James LaRue Avery has passed away on December 31 2013 due to complications from his open heart surgery. James Avery is an actor well known for his role as uncle Phil in The Fresh Prince of Bel Air and the voice of Shredder from the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon.




I wanted to write an article about James Avery to show my respect and appreciation for who he is and what he has done for television. While voicing the shredder was his biggest success, James Avery had voice acted in other cartoons such as Junkyard Dog from Hulk Hogan's Rock 'n' Wrestling, War Machine from the 90's Iron Cartoon and Haroud Hazi Bin from the Aladdin TV series. He had also guest starred as an elder in the show "Charmed".

I'm deeply sadden about his death, but he will always be part of us. So James Avery thank you for all the years you've entertained us with your acting and voice acting.
