Randall Mario Poffo other wise know as the Macho Man Randy Savage, was one of my childhood heros. He made it look so good to be so bad and always new how to put on a show for his fan.It was really sad to hear about his death, someone with that much life will never truly be gone and will live on in so many of his fans hearts and memories, new and old.


Macho man was a second generation wrestler and was the son of profession wrestler Angelo Poffo, his brother also wrestle under the name “The Genius”.


Savage was a mulitie talented athlete and was signed out of high school by the ST. louis cardinals as a catcher. He played 289 games in four minor league seasons, batting .254 with 16 home runs and 66 RBIs but his true calling was yet to be answered.


Savage first broke into wrestling in 1973 during the fall and winter of the baseball off season. He went by the name “spider” but then changed it to “Macho Man”, wise choice cause the name fit like a glove.From 1975 to 1985 he wrestled in low budget organizations before finding his way to the WWF.Where he would finally have a chance to shine. Equiped with his new manger the First Lady of Wrestling Miss Elizabeth savage would win his first title WWF Intercontinental belt.


After losing the title at wrestlmania 3, Macho would then team up with Hulk Hogan to form one of the greatest tag teams “ The Meag Powers” with their manager Elizabeth. It would be that freindship that was so instrumental in Macho man winning his second title the WWF championship in the first ever championship tournament at Wrestlemaina 4.


Macho Man and Hogans freindship would end in a fued over Elizabeth and he would lose the title to Hogan at wrestlemania 5,


Macho Man would requip himself with his new manager Sherry and rage war against Hogan. After defeating Hacksaw Jim Duggan for the WWF crown “The Macho King” was born.


And after losing the retirment match aginst the ultimate warrior at wrestlemaina 7, he joined the broadcast booth and started call matches. He and Miss Elizabeth would stage a wedding but for T.V. only they had already been married since 1984 but divorced in the early 90's.

And after a ten year career with the WWF, 2 wwf championships, one Intercontinental Title and the greatest King the WWF has ever seen, Macho Man would leave for the WcW. And in the five years there would win the WCW World title, the U.S. title and join the nWo with his old partner Hulk Hogan.


In 2004 Randy would make a short live return to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling but would evently retired for good.

Macho man would have a short lived rap career and made a special apperance in the movie Spiderman as well as other t.v. apperances.He married his long time girlfriend and had just celaberted his one year wedding anniversary.



He had a larger than life personality and was a true preformer, he was exciting to watch and always gave it his all to entertain his fan, I remember see him wrestle live. It was Macho King vs The Warrior for the title at the L.A. sports arena, awesome night.I would like to thank the macho man for all the fun and excitement he brought to me and my brothers. He was the coolest bad guy, and always gave the greatest interviews.He truly will be missed but not forgotton.It will be truly hard to forget him considering all the old battle scares I got doing his flyin elbow off my moms couches.
